Hotel's Favourite
I had lunch in the Cedar Bar with a friend & thoroughly enjoyed it. The bar is beautiful, with its interesting decor which is reminiscent of a past era. The staff were attentive & the service good. The food was delicious. I can thoroughly recommend the beetroot risotto, v unusual but very tasty. Also the fishcakes & chocolate cremeux were just great. I didn't stay in the hotel, but it's a lovely building with stunning grounds. Also, there is plenty of parking. I would highly recommend a visit, & plan to go back, maybe afternoon tea if a vegan equivalent is possible.

Dear Sareeta C Thank you very much for your review following a lunch with us at Lainston House. It is lovely to hear that you enjoyed your visit, and your lunch in the Cedar Bar. You may be interested to learn that that the wood panelling in the bar is from a Cedar Tree that fell in the grounds in the early 1900's. To answer your question, we e offer a wide range of vegan options for afternoon tea and in both restaurants and are sure that your tastes will be catered for. We would very much like to welcome you back in the future. Thanks again for your review.

I organised our work Christmas meeting to be held at Lainston House Hotel, without having been before or knowing much about the service. To say we were impressed is an understatement. As photos show, the venue is just stunning, utterly luxurious with beautiful views, huge comfortable bedrooms (and an enormous slipper bath - heaven!) but it was the staff who made our stay so wonderful. The Events Co-ordinator, Michelle, was incredibly helpful and even organised taxis for us to go into town to the Christmas market; Ben, the meeting co-ordinator, ensured we had everything we needed to run our 2 day meeting, with endless refreshments and all technology needs met; Jane on Reception was lovely and full of information on the history of the hotel; Nick, our dinner co-ordinator, went all out to ensure we had the most fun evening with flawless service; and finally the chef(s) cooked up amazing meals from 20 x fillet steaks through to full English breakfasts. It's not always easy to get praise from everyone in a large group but without exception every member of the team has said what an incredible venue it is, and how wonderful our stay was. If you're undecided, just book this hotel. You won't regret it.

I recently came with my family to the wellhouse restaurant with my family and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went on a Monday and it was lovely and quiet with a really nice ambiance to it. It is still in keeping with the original features and you can even stand on the well! The chefs in there are marvellous and you can tell they really care about the food they’re serving. Would definitely recommend😊

Came for a family afternoon tea at the end of October. The decorations for Halloween were great and the drawing room a lovely setting. The afternoon tea itself was delicious, some highlights were the banana and caramel eclairs and the mushroom brioche. Very friendly and welcoming staff who went the extra mile to make the occasion special. Would highly recommend and hope to return soon!

We didn't stay there but had an amazing meal at The Wellhouse. I have been to several Michelin, celebrity restaurants and after a while your taste buds get numb. However it was very much awaken by Wellhouse! Rustic in decor but food was beyond that! Cooked in a oven fire stove at 400 degrees, the Cafe de Paris mussels we had consisted of 30 spice/herbs ingredients which were so well amalgamated my taste buds was dancing! The garlic butter on the gigantic steak was sweet yet not overpowering ( apparently cooked for days at constant 62 degrees!). The surprising Baked Alaska was a delight - who knew Basil gel went so well with the sharp citrus flavours! All in all my 5 senses were ignited! We had a tour of their kitchen ( Cookery school) and had useful tips from the chef as we are also avid amateur cooks! Cant wait to go back!!

My wife and I had a lovely weekend stay at Lainston House. The rooms was excellent, the staff friendly, helpful and attentive at all times. We enjoyed an evening meal in The Wellhouse which was fantastic and I'd recommend a visit. We enjoyed a walk down the tree lined avenue, despite the November weather, and a stroll to a local pub. We had a really lovely weekend together at Lainston House, what a superb hotel. Thanks to all the staff!

Very proffessional reception when we arrived, showed us our room, we had dinner in the Avenue Restaurant, Amazing ! The food was fantastic, each course was so expertly put together, which made everything taste divine, the waiter was so friendly and helpful, all the staff were very knowledgeable. In the bar again very proffessional looked after our dog by spoiling him. The chef is soo talented, all the staff so friendly could not do enough, looked after our dog as well. Breakfast was again spot on so much to choose from. Rhona the early morning breakfast supervisor. Spoilt us and our dog, very kind caring lady . We never said goodbye as we never saw her from Breakfast. But please give our Thanks . And Thanks to everyone at Lainston. Even though we never got everyone's name . Your all amazing what you do. You all work soo hard to make sure everyone has a lovely time. The grounds are huge , lovely walks had by all. And we want to try the espresso martini. Had a couple of those each. The room was kept very clean and tidy, again the ladies work very hard. As if by magic you return and it's all done. Constant heat, and running hot water. For a while in heaven, we have been coming for many years, a few changes but all for the best. Thank you again for everything hope you have a fantastic Christmas. We love ❤️ you all Xx

A beautiful manor house hotel in the most picturesque setting. The rooms are beautifully decorated with everything you need for your stay. The real highlight was the food, with dinner at both the Wellhouse and Avenue restaurants exceeding expectations in terms of taste, quality and service. The chefs made a huge effort in catering to my dietary requirements which made us feel so relaxed and comfortable. Overall it was a memorable stay celebrating a special occasion and we are already planning our return!
