We chose this hotel for its location -- just a block and a half north of High Street -- and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and bathroom. Although the building itself is old, the current renovation is a soothing mix of grays that are calming without being cold. The bathroom was spacious and included both a...

Very nice room, but beds a bit soft (and short - 2 single beds). Decent breakfast, on the pricy side though (maybe average for Winchester). Apparently this review has to be longer or it won't be accepted - that's why this sentence is here.

Our stay at the Winchester Royal was perfect. The hotel, it's location, it's staff, the beautiful garden and facilities were fantastic. This is the place to stay if you're visiting Winchester. We will be returning in the Summer. Thank you for making our stay special.

Everything was made easy. We were given our own private room for our gathering. We received excellent service, very good food and beautiful rooms. We couldn't have asked for more. All ten of us agreed that we received excellent value for money.

Old world charm at the price of budget hotels. Winchester centre is quintessential English. Super street markets with quality buskers, stalls and shops. Terrific assortment of pubs and eateries. Visiting from Portugal, a lovely English treaty.

The room was a good size, clean and quiet ( even in the city centre location ). The restaurant food was lovely, well priced and the service attentive and friendly. Ideal to explore Wicester as right in the center.

We took advantage of a Travel-Zoo deal with an overnight stay, dinner and breakfast. Overall, it was a very positive, pleasant experience but parking is an issue (we had to park in a multi-storey a walk away) and were given a rubbish map to find it! Our room (very comfortable) was in the new part of the hotel and quite...

I came with my grown-up daughter for a short stay to explore Winchester and chose The Winchester Royal as they had a fantastic dinner bed and breakfast deal which made our stay excellent value. We upgraded to a modern garden room, which was clean and spacious with an enormous and very comfortable bed. The garden itself must be delightful in...

This was a first time visit to the hotel and we were impressed by the central location, accommodation and friendly nature of the staff. The DBB package was great value for money and both the evening meal and breakfast were of good quality.
