It wasn't the best time at the Mecure with a problem with the linen delivery. Staff dealt with a difficult situation politely and as efficiently as they were able. There was also a problem with the hot water which was being sorted as we left. Will return as we love the proximity to the town centre and market.

I booked a family weekend here some time ago (our first visit to this hotel). When we arrived there was no parking space and we were told the boilers were being fixed and the water for showers was tepid instead of normal heat. The receptionist was doing her best to be pleasant but, not surprisingly, a queue of unhappy people...

When we got back we went to our room which was freezing cold,I went to turn on the TV and the remote didn't work My wife then ran a bath which was lukewarm as was the shower We told the receptionist who seemed...

Right in the centre of the City, excellent location. Customer service brilliant. We had problems with hot water on 2 of our mornings. At checkout we were amazed to receive a discount on the room rate for the 2 days that we had the problem. Impressed.....

Had to pay for parking which was £12, but there was no fuss about us getting there before check-in or leaving the car after we had checked-out (though it had to be gone by midday). As we arrived early and the room wasn't ready we asked to leave the car and we had no problem with this as we wanted...

Our internet booking was for room only, on check in we weren't asked if we'd require breakfast nor were we offered a morning paper. My e-mail confirmation stated that breakfast was £15.50 per person, which we considered exorbitant. Later queried breakfast price with a different receptionist who said that if we pre-booked it would be £10 and we weren't too...

Perfect location ,clean but dated parking was difficult on Saturday ,receptionist was quite insistent that I paid up front ,I would have preferred to have opened a tab ,no one in bar for pre lunch drinks on Sunday had to go to reception to get someone to serve us and same receptionists chased after me to ask if I was...

I understand things go wrong but to me the key thing is around staff attitude and a feeling that they actually care about you. To find the hotel has had insufficient hot water to provide showers, as has been the case for two weeks, and not proactively inform guests is poor. Then to find it takes 25mins to make poached...

It's hard not to feel disappointed. At £144 a night (which included a 10% discount), the room was definitely not worth the price. When we arrived there was no parking available at the hotel (the hotel car park looks like a great way to scratch your car by the way) so we had to pay to stay in the council-provided...
