We decided to stay at No.5 for 1 night to visit Winchester Christmas markets, but wanted to make a weekend of it. When we arrived the pub was full of family's and friends all having dinner, we were greeted and shown to our wonderful room. Large and spacious with a very comfy bed. Complementary coffee and tea, as well as...

I was out with a friend and dropped in on the off chance that there was a table for dinner. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was fantastic. We were very well looked after by Lizzie. The evening menu offers a choice of small 'grazing' plates. The quality of the food was excellent, beautiful flavours...

Booked for 16 people to enjoy (surprise) Sunday lunch to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. We were seated in the private room which was an ideal location for the number of people. Drinks were served at the bar promptly and efficiently, we were shown through to the room and the meal soon followed. First class beef and all the trimmings....

An overnight here for a local meeting. Nice room, good food in the bar/restaurant. Very close to the centre of Winchester. You can walk here from the station in about 10 minutes but a taxi may be less hassle. Parking may be a little problematic but I was on foot on this occasion.

Restaurant again very nice along with the bar. Wouldn't really worry about breakfast, but that's just personal choice. Highly recommended.

The staff here are on a par with the best hotels in the Middle and Far East, they really are that good. Friendly, helpful and engaging I can't fault them. The bar is well stocked giving plenty of choice for the parched traveller. The food menu is slightly unusual, but I found the food to be good, well cooked and...

Stayed here 2 nights on business. The boutique, stylish, "home-y" rooms were a refreshing change from the standard chain hotels. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean, the food (including room service) was fantastic. Only downside is it can be a bit loud at night from street noises but they provide ear plugs in the night stands. Highly...

Our midnight arrival and my fusing the lights posed no problem for the friendly and competent bar staff and night manager. Room quiet and comfortable, breakfast coffee good. Sorry to have arrived too late to try the food.
