We stayed here for one night booked through Macs Adventures while walking the South Downs Way. The accommodation is located in an annexe to the main house, where we enjoyed cake and coffee on arrival in the shared lounge. The room was light, spacious and comfortable and breakfast served in the conservatory in the main house was very good.
This is a really lovely place with lots to do nearby. breakfasts were really tasty and generous, rooms beautifully presented and we were made to feel most welcome by Tina, our host. Pub with good food within easy walking distance means you have everything covered!
I stayed at the Manor House when walking the South Downs Way. It was much bigger than I needed (I was traveling alone), but it was very convenient in that it was right on the trail (the SDW literally passes in front of the Manor House, so it's easy to find). I received a warm welcome upon arrival, and there was a fresh piece of cake in the kitchen to have with a cup of tea, which was very welcome. Breakfast was lovely in the morning. The accommodation has one or two rooms, depending on what you book, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a sitting room. Everything was very clean. Be sure to check out the gardens around the Manor House, which are lovely. If I hadn't been so exhausted after my walk, I would have sat outside to read a book. It's really lovely. I highly recommend a stay at the Manor House if you're in the area. Great service, lovely room.…
Stayed for two nights recently and had a lovely stay. Good communication beforehand, a friendly welcome and good advice for things to see and do in the area. All with a breakfast so filling it renders lunch unnecessary! Would highly recommend - also a great pub down the road and right on the South Downs Way.
In Exton, 12 miles east of Winchester, on the South Downs Way. Lovely B+B for 4. Usually 2 nights minimum but both rooms for 1 night is fine. Lovely house with an amazing garden. We arrived at 4.30 and the host, Tina, greeted us with a home made cake. Perfect, as we had walked from Winchester. Fairly easy day walk, but lovely introduction to the SDW route. Local pub, The Shoe, is great but the restaurant gets busy so booking at the weekends is required. We were lucky as Tina also invited us to look around her superb garden. Even offered us a glass of cool white wine. Thank you! The B+B has coffee/ tea making (with real coffee and milk!) but no cooking is allowed. Breakfast is just superb, order the night before. Fresh fruit, full cooked breakfast, stunning. Great shower, lovely linen. We would go back there in a blink of an eye. Thank you for a great first night walking the SDW.…
