I have just led a group of sixteen golfers to stay at this hotel for a three day weekend. We were looked after very well from start to finish and given a separate area in which to have our meals. The food was per ordered on arrival for the first night and then subsequently on the Saturday morning for the evening. There was a good choice, high quality and certainly plenty of it! Service was very friendly and prompt. A similar comment in the bar where there was a good choice of lagers and a very quaffable Ludlow bitter. Our rooms were single accommodation doubles and were both comfortable and quiet. There is lots of car parking and generally right outside individual rooms. The overall experience was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to other trip organisers.…
I booked this hotel as a special weekend for my husband’s 70th birthday. Receptionist greeted us warmly and gave us the key to our room. We tested the bed before we unpacked and went straight back to reception. It was so soft that we would have rolled in to the middle. We tried five different rooms and settled on a twin room. We both woke up in the morning with a bad back. We went back to reception and was told there were no better rooms. We decided to check out and went and stayed at a premier inn. We have tried to get a refund for the two nights that we didn’t stay, but the management have not got in touch with us after numerous calls to them. Would I recommend this hotel. Certainly not.
Second time staying at this hotel, first time had nice room on ground floor, this time on second floor but room was very dated, bed was comfortable. The bathroom was awful, discoloured old hairdryer, the bath mat was disgusting, the bath had gouges in the side with odd tiles surrounding. Picture on wall was so faded, couldn't tell what it was. Had dinner in the restaurant, sweet chilli chicken, nothing special, where was the sweet chilli sauce and where were the onions and peppers, didn't enjoy it, chips OK but can't go wrong with frozen ones, the older waitress was a misery guts, younger ones were OK. The receptionist though was very pleasant indeed and had a like ability. Had a drink in the bar, but glasses had a funny smell like dirty dish rag. Love Hereford but will definitely look for a different hotel on our next visit. Needs complete refurbishment.…
We stayed for two nights in a garden room. The room was fine, comfortable and commensurate with what we paid. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The evening meals were good value with good choice being well cooked and presented. The hotel was ideal for us being a comfortable walk into Hereford centre.
We stayed for one night in a garden room with our dog. On arrival, the receptionist struck the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness. Our room was clean (bar a few cobwebs) if a little dated. There was no valance sheet to cover the divan base. The mattress was firm. The pillows were soft and lacked fullness. The bathroom, whilst clean, was dated and, in our opinion, could do with replacement. The extractor fan was very dusty. We decided to have a light breakfast in the morning. The front of house staff once again struck the perfect balance of professionalism and warmly welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The light breakfast consisted of warm croissant, cereals, yogurts, juices, tea/coffee, fruit and toast (the sliced breads were presented in their plastic wrappers) The breakfast room itself was well presented, if a little dated with a little wear and tear showing around the edges. On balance, because of the very good hospitality skills demonstrated by the staff and because of the convenient location of this hotel, we would rate it as "very good". …
