The restaurant is dated, the food mediocre at best and the staff need training on how to be waiters. The room I stayed in had paper thin walls. I could hear the next room’s telephone conversation at 0600. And the hotel plumbing could be heard at times from the room. The

Dear Sir. I am sorry that you felt you were somehow being conned into paying a rate you were not expecting. If you check your Booking.com confirmation (I have a copy if you need it) you will see that you booked a twin room for single occupancy and it clearly states max occupancy of 1 guest, hence the rate of £57.00. Therefore, we expected that you would be in the room on your own. There were actually two of you in the room so the £70 rate was in fact correct. These were some special rates we were offering during the January weekends. We are certainly not wanting to dupe people into paying any extra money but, at the same time, expect that a guest wants what they booked. The decision to 'let it go' is by no means an admission of anything but simply our attempt to try and deal with the situation when you were clearly very unhappy, it was definitely only a gesture of goodwill on our part.
