Stayed for a spa break the brasserie staff were very attentive. Albino and his head chef Marilena ensured all our meals were to our required dietary requirements which resulted in us having wonderful meals. They are both a credit to the hotel. The spa and its facilities are exceptional and we look forward to our next visit.
We visited Sopwell House for a spa weekend in May. The spa was incredible, the best spa we’ve been to and we’ve been to quite a few. The food at the restaurant was great for breakfast, lunch and dinner, made all the better by Albino’s attentive service. The hotel room was really comfortable with a comfy king bed. Would definitely recommend.
We were very keen to visit Sopwell House as soon as allowed during the Covid times. Unfortunately the experience was not up to the excellent standard we had received in the past and we were disappointed enough to make a complaint. Jane dealt with our complaint professionally and in a friendly manner. Her customer service was excellent. We were very pleased with the outcome which was totally down to Jane. Thank you Jane, because of the way you dealt with everything Charles has now become a member and is loving his time at The Club. You turned a very negative situation into a positive outcome. Sopwell House are lucky to have you.
Lovely afternoon tea followed by a drink in the garden. The staff were lovely and attentive. Sandwiches and tea were replenished and cakes we couldn’t eat boxed up to take home. Thank you also to the chef for making the dessert take away as well!!
Unfortunately this hotel is not up to scratch anymore. The hotel is trying to be like an exclusive limewood or four seasons and sadly it is not there. The new executive rooms are okay, not worth the price tag. The bathrooms are very small and barely functional. The shower is not big enough for a tall person. Room service is horrifyingly bad - 2 hour wait for breakfast one morning, 30 minute wait for coffees one afternoon. The hotel is very understaffed, especially when there is an event on. The real icing on the cake is: no children allowed in the swimming pool, not even during set times AND you are not allowed to use the spa facilities after checkout. Keep in mind, checkin is 3pm and checkout is 11am… there isn’t a lot of time for anything really. Food quality is sub par. Staff at reception are extremely arrogant, uptight, rude and sadly extremely stuck up. I can understand if it was the Ritz but it’s Sopwell house so the attitude needs to be taken down a notch. The hotel needs new management, they are not prepared for the hotel to be fully booked. We had housekeeping knocking on our door from 8.30am… plus a fire alarm drill at 11am. Definitely will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.…
Just home from a 2nd visit to Sopwell House and enjoyed a wonderful sunny luxurious spa weekend with a friend. We stayed in the Mews which was a touch more special than a room in the hotel (which are still lovely). Treatments were very nice. Facilities top notch. Service was brilliant. In particular Sarah (restaurant manager) and Karen from the brasserie. Thank you Sopwell. We will be back
Had a lovely birthday lunch here with my wife and 3 year old. Our waiter Charles was superb! Had a sunday lunch and the salmon. Food was great and so were the drinks. All the staff were very kind. Will definitely return.
What a beautiful experience. Today we visited Sopwell House for afternoon tea. Food and service were second to none. We felt very special indeed. A special thank you to Yaelle who went above and beyond for us. Her service at the afternoon tea has now prompted us to return for a larger family gathering in the restaurant and a spa and overnight stay latter on in the year. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Went for lunch with my girlfriend and Albino served us. It was so beautiful. He is very bubbly and very attentive. Recommended what order. Was just a beautiful experience. Very lovely service, quality from waiter Albino.
We celebrated our daughter's first wedding anniversary party at Sopwell House on the 1st of May 22. Ellie was our coordinator and planner. We were planning this event with Ellie for over two months. Throughout this period her professionalism showed through. We believe that she is an asset to the Sopwell House team and they must be very proud of her. We also want to say, a big thank you to all members of the Sopwell House team that were on duty on the evening of the 1st of May 22 at the Breakspear and Bacon Suite. Thanks also to the catering staff who prepared our enjoyable Indian dinner that evening. All members of the Sopwell House team we came across were friendly and helpful and made it a day to remember.
