We made a last minute booking for B & B at The White Hart and were very pleased with it. A fascinating ancient building, we had a spacious and warm panelled bedroom with a large open fireplace and ultra modern bathroom. The bed was really comfortable, which is so important. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, particularly the breakfast waitress...

I was taken to the White Hart Hotel for a Valentine's trip. We had both our dogs and my partner telephoned the night before having booked through booking.com to check that we were in a dog friendly room. It was, Number 17 in an annex across the way, on the ground floor, more of a studio appartment than a romantic...

Great hotel in good location. Always receive a warm and friendly welcome. Rooms are really comfortable, who cares if the floors are crooked and squeak.....it's a historic building full of character! Just had yet another spectacular dinner, never had a bad meal here yet....great chef! One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in.....thank you all!

We had a lovely large twin room overlooking the street. We didn't use the restaurant in the evening but the breakfast was superb with a very good choice and the bar is also very pleasant. The building has great character and interesting historic features.

What a fantastic evening beginning with a starter of your choice, then the ghost tour around the building and then back to the dining room for the rest of the dinner courses. Won't give anything away but if you enjoy a spookie experience then try it out. I often eat out and the food at the White Hart is the...

Enjoyed a couple of nights here as a base for visiting St Albans. It's a great place to stay, dating back to the 15th Century - lots of wood panelling, nooks and crannies, twisting corridors and sloping floors, in other words, bursting with character. The room was comfortable with plenty of space (we had room 4), overlooking the yard (quieter...

Lovely character hotel not one flat floor or straight wall shows the age of this great building. Friendly staff coupled with good location and free parking complete with a good size four post bedroom and bathroom.

Stayed in Room 8 for one night to visit St Albans and attend the Alban Arena Having read several reviews that weren't so good I was interested in seeing what the hotel was really like. On arrival we checked in at Reception to a warm, friendly welcome. We were early and just popped in to say we were here and...

Location is fantastic. The hotel is in need of a little refurb as some other reviews have said but we weren't too bothered about the decor as we were only staying overnight. The shower was very powerful and the bed was very comfortable. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as there was a harvester close by. We had a...

Yes you could go to the Premier Inn, but this is a very old historic building. Yes it has creaky floors, the doors might not close without a bit of a shove, the windows aren't modern and there are bits that could do with some attention but it's a very old building! We were met by a very pleasant receptionist...
