We have just returned following a 2 night stay in St Albans. We received a warm welcome on arrival. All the staff were helpful & friendly. The room was compact well designed & the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, varied & delicious. All areas were supremely clean, bright & comfortable. This hotel is by the Motorway & you do hear the traffic noise with the window open but once the window is closed no noise & the air conditioning worked perfectly.
I happily recommend this hotel.
Fantastic value for money.

We stayed here with our 2 daughters in a family room, as we had studio audience tickets for the Voice being filmed at elstree.

The reception staff were welcoming and helpful and even gave us our room early to put our bags in, prior to travelling to the show.

The hotel is modern and incredibly clean ... spotless in fact.

The family room, whilst on the small side, gave us everything we needed with a double sofa bed in the room. The facilities were adequate and modern.

Breakfast was included in our price (excellent value) and on departing, reception staff were incredibly helpful when enquiring about the best way to get to central London! (This took us less than twenty minutes from St Albans train station and we parked at the station car park which was a ten to fifteen minute drive from hotel)

I would recommend this hotel - shopping very close by includes a Sainsbury’s and a range of shops - along with a McDonald’s over the road)!

Needed a hotel in the area for an early morning delivery before heading into London and booked this hotel the day before for £54, 2 adults 1 child on a Friday night with breakfast and free parking. The room was spotless and big enough for us. Husband said it was the best he’d slept in a while. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, cereal, toast, croissants, muffins, fruit and bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and beans, what more could you want. In fact whilst in London we were tempted to stay another night but have decided to return either next weekend or the weekend after. Couldn’t beat the price and quality

I booked this hotel for business and price. The price includes breakfast and location wise perfect for what I required.
They have sound proofed they building well and it is fairly quiet considering it is next to M25. There is a retail park with ships and supermarket just next door as well.
The room was very clean and had everything I needed inside. The shower was great too.
Breakfast was hot or continental and you could sit down or take it away.
Only disappointed at their was no gym even though it says there is. There is one ‘down the road’ though. The dinner menu didn’t look to appetising there for went to a pub / restaurant nearby.
If you are looking for price, location and value this is the hotel for you.

My husband is currently staying at this hotel for work purposes. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms comfortable and the staff are really helpful and friendly. They have done a fabulous job of keeping residents safe during the pandemic. However, after a hard days work on site, he didn’t want to venture out for an evening meal so ordered an in house meal advertised as “burger, chips and salad garnish”. It was reminiscent of a £2 cheap burger meal from a seaside burger van; not worthy of the £10+ price tag.
The burger was dry and tasteless, the chips cold and the salad had done a runner (obviously embarrassed to be associated with the other items on the plate). Such a shame, as he is there for the week but won’t be “enjoying” any more evening meals.
By all means, stay there, eat the limited free breakfast but swerve the dinner offerings; there are plenty of takeaways that deliver.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express (St. Albans) on Friday 29th July, 2022, for one night only. First impressions were good. This is a modern hotel located near junction 22 on the M25. Our room was excellent with a comfortable bed, good TV., tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom was really nice. The bedroom was immaculate throughout. The staff were very friendly and efficient. However there was a problem. We were advised to visit the breakfast area early because it could get very busy. At 8am we arrived in the breakfast diner. To our dismay food was in short supply. There were no eggs, bacon, beans, and orange juice. Only sausages and toast were available. It took over 30 minutes to replenish the food and orange juice. We are reluctant to be too critical but surely this cannot be acceptable. This delayed our journey to the Isle of Wight. This was unfortunate - we've never experienced this situation before. We paid £115 for one night's stay - the most by far we have ever paid at Holiday Inn Express. It's a pity because the hotel is very good otherwise.

We arrived and were allocated an accessible room, which we asked to change as we didn't fancy the whole bathroom floor wet after showering. We did not request an accessable room when booking. Talking to a very curt receptionist, I was advised that "as we booked a standard room, they can allocate any room they like and that is available. I simply said that I do not wish to stay in this room, the TV was also not working. She then put me through to a senior colleague who gave us a twin room, allegedly all double rooms were full. The hotel and car park did astonishingly seem quite empty though.
The room was of adequate size, small bathroom, but ok. The cleanliness was not of good standard. The carpet needed a hoover and the shower cubicle could do with a good bleaching, the beds weren't very comfortable and the bedding felt scratchy. Needless to say we didn't have a great night's sleep. As we only stayed for one night and were tired from a long car journey, we just simply didn't have the energy to raise these concerns after the rather snotty reply the first time round when we wanted to change rooms.
On a positive note, Sainsbury's and some other shops are within a very quick walking distance and the free breakfast - all be it very simple - was a nice touch. There is also free parking. Would I stay there again? No!

Easy to locate, well situated. We stayed in one room (4 sisters, one is a teen), plenty of space. Bed was really comfy, was nice and quiet. No noise from outside, we stayed where we could see the petrol station out the window (I'm a light sleeper and wasn't woken once). Breakfast is a help yourself of hot and cold. Gluten free bread toasted in a separate toaster, vegan butter available.

Not too bad for the price / location - £99 for a night with breakfast and free parking.

Nice modern and bright facility next to the M25 (almost on it to be fair) my I main concern was noise from motorway but with windows closed it was very soundproofed from the outside.

On check in we were told breakfast would be very busy between 9 and 10 so get up early if you wanted it. - why not extend the hours instead to say 11am ? Easy fix and happy guests.

The soundproofing of the corridors are a let down particularly the doors when they close as they all slam shut so once the early risers are up its wake wake time for everyone with doors and corridor noise !

Rooms have all the basic amenities you would expect and are nice and modern.

The air con / ventilation in room is poor even on full they didn't really do anything and then switched off after a short time - obviously with the M25 you can't really have the window open at night.

Overall though for the price etc is was average and would probably stay again if needed.
