Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a pretty good hotel. The decor is a little but faded, but actually done quite well. The breakfast was excellent and the service was superb. The only complaint I had was that every bulb in the place was cold light. I'm not the most light-sensitive person in the world, but for a hotel, that's pretty unforgivable to me.

Lovely place to stay, really close to the city centre on an easy walk. My partner and I stayed with our dog Christmas and Boxing Days, and were made very welcome by Radu on arrival. When we asked if we could use a microwave to heat up some dinner, he said he'd put in the oven, "why ruin it in a microwave?" He let us use the empty bar to eat, which we had to ourselves. Really comfortable and clean room, and a great cooked breakfast. We'll be back.

returned for a third time to this lovely hotel. last visit was a few years ago. it’s in a great location in walking distance to the city centre. the hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the decor is traditional. When we arrived we were greeted by Bogdan who is extremely helpful and goes the extra mile. we were able to park in the car park even before check in so we could go out to have lunch which was really helpful. our room was cosy and very clean. we made use of the pool which adds an extra something special to this hotel. it was a bit chilly in the pool but it was november! we had treatments in the spa facility . really relaxing massages by the two ladies who work there. had a great night sleep. the beds are comfy. nice bathroom and the shower was good. we had breakfast and could choose full english and continental as it’s a buffet style breakfast . hopefully will return here as it really is a great place to stay and it’s good value for money too. a hidden gem!

Lovely hotel for a one night stay and explore of Canterbury. Radu was incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived. He gave us a warm welcome, showed us around the hotel, and was on hand in case we needed anything. He also gave us very good recommendations of what to see and where to eat, and how to make the short walk into town. The pool was a great touch, we enjoyed a swim before heading out for the evening and another in the morning before breakfast. Breakfast had everything you could want.

We’ve stayed before and this time, stayed in the Georgian part of the Hotel - Room 14 had a 4 poster bed. Room very clean with plenty of storage. Josh was very welcoming and customer focussed. Used the pool which was great. Breakfast was excellent. Will return.

Great warm and clean rooms. The hospitality was on point we were greeted by Bogdan which directed us towards the attractions and took our bags as we rushed back to make as much as possible of our trip in Canterbury. Upon our check in we were greeted by Radu which was very helpful with his knowledge about the restaurant and what to do around town. The hotel has a pool which is heated and not busy at all so you can have the pool by yourself even on a bank holiday weekend. Breakfast was on point having options for kids aswell for vegans / vegetarians. Will return on my next journey around the area. Would recommend with all my heart.

very comfortable, spotlessly clean room, great to have use of the pool. Breakfast just OK. Good location if you don't mind a short walk in to Canterbury. Very friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend.

This review is for the spa as we didn’t stay in the hotel. We had a couples spa package. It was lovely and relaxing. The treatments were great and the therapists lovely and professional. We had a drink in the sunshine in the garden and a swim as well. It was a relaxing, calm couple of hours just what we needed. Thank you

Really easy going hotel. Feels a bit retro but in a good way! Room was reasonable size, clean, fab towels and linen. Mattress was to die for! We are ordering one for ourselves! Where are the pillows from? We slept like babies Swimming pool was a bonus. Breakfast on day one was disappointing. Arrived at 9 and there were no pastries, coffee empty, tea selection poor and most hot options were gone; no clean glasses for juice and no staff around to ask. Second day totally different experience, full selection, toast offered and full hot selection available. Went at the same time so clearly a staffing issue. Great location, free onsite parking, bar, pretty garden, friendly staff, clean bedrooms and facilities. On the whole, we had a lovely stay and would return and recommend.

Room Tip: Make use of the pool. The gardens are shady and a bonus - you can drink your own wine and eat...

Yes it’s old school in that 1970’s “Torquay B&B” feel, but that's its charm. The rooms was very spacious, the staff were lovely and it even has a pool. Breakfast was good and the location is about 10 minutes’ walk from the town centre, with bus stops and East Station only 5 minutes away. WiFi could be faster, though. But I was pleasantly surprised by this place.
