Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were made very welcome by Heidi and Paul right from the start of our visit to the very end. The room was lovely, breakfast was delicious and the B and B is within easy reach on foot to the centre of Canterbury. It was good to be have safe car parking. We would stay there again.

This truly is a 5 star bnb. Very straightforward and efficient to book. Instructions to the location and parking are accurate and clear and we were greeted warmly. Everything was explained clearly . Our Room No2.. was modern, spacious, warm, clean and extremely well equipped. It was great to be able to alter the radiators and open windows for fresh air.. something which many hotels do not allow. With the windows closed, there is very little traffic noise. Breakfast was delicious.. again 5 stars a very good selection of hot and cold options. It’s a simple, level walk along the river into the city.. we were there in 10mins .. We only stayed one night, but would be very happy to stay longer. Paul and Heidi are superb hosts. We will return.

We spent a wonderful two nights at Harriet House and would have no hesitation recommending this b&b. Paul & Heidi are great hosts - spotlessly clean room - great breakfast choice - secure parking - the property is an absolute credit to them . Thank you, Mel & Jakki.

I travelled by train to Canterbury with a rucksack so if you're doing the same Harriet House is ideally located less than half a mile from Canterbury West train station. It's an easy 8-10min walk (max) from the station and easy to find. I stayed in one of the first floor superior rooms. The room was clean and well designed creating a relaxed ambience. The bed was comfortable, linen crisp and mattress was medium to firm with plenty of pillows supplied (these things are becoming more important as I'm getting older!). Plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and provisions supplied in the room with a cupboard just outside the door filled with others to replace those used. Spacious bathroom, contemporary tiling, and piping hot power shower. Really nice smelling linen aromatherapy oil and the LED mirror light with clock were nice touches too. Breakfast was excellent with the attentive Heidi running a tight ship at the front of the house, while Paul whips up a great selection of made-to-order cooked fayre in the kitchen. Gripes? We're talking minor (probably petty to most people) stuff here but if I didn't put something in the review it would look like the owners Heidi and Paul wrote it for me! A couple more clothes hangers in the wardrobe would be ideal. The hairdryer was also buzzing on full power and I felt it would maybe disturb the guest in the adjoining room if I used it on max.

Thank you so much Jason! We really do appreciate you taking the time to review your say and for giving so much detail! 5* guest. More coat hangers - great feedback! Consider it done! Will look at the hairdryer too as we didn't realise it was noisy! We'd love to see you again one day! Kind regards Heidi and Paul

A wonderful stay at Harriet House with Heidi and Paul making it even more fun with their humour and hospitality. The bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. The in room refreshments were never ending as you could help yourself to tea, coffee and biscuits whenever you wanted. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of thick tasty bacon and lovely fried eggs (plus all the trimmings). The location was perfect, a 20 minute walk on the flat ground into the city where you would find all of the amenities. A perfect way to spend a few days in Canterbury.

A first class B&B run by people with an eye to detail. Everything clear and labeled. Lovely to have your own fridge and filtered water, coffee machine, comfy bed. Easy walking distance of City and very friendly people.

Heidi and Paul are friendly and courteous and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. There is a homely atmosphere at Harriet House and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast choices are extensive and the food cooked by Paul is very good. They have local knowledge when it comes to visiting the area and this can save you a lot of time. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again if we were in the area.

After an almost 12 month delay on our stay due to family circumstances Paul and Heidi honoured our original booking. We had a very pleasant comfortable spacious room. Spotlessly clean with very careful attention to detail. Our stay coincided with ridiculously hot weather but a cooling fan was part of the rooms facilities. There were many choices for breakfast and what we had we thoroughly enjoyed. Nothing was too much trouble. We were very impressed with the accommodation and will certainly not hesitate to return given our family circumstances and obviously the availability of a suitable room.

We were a group of 5 people and we stayed 2 nights at a lovely B&B at Harriet House. It’s a short walk into town. All the rooms were lovely with everything you need and a great breakfast! The entire house is of an excellent standard. Paul and Heidi were lovely hosts who made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in and catered to every need. The rooms were very cosy. The place is in walking distance from the city centre and also Canterbury West train station. You can leave your car in the secured car park in front of the B&B. Breakfast was all freshly made, with Full English breakfast option, cereals and fresh fruits. The granola is freshly made. Our hosts were very friendly. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay. We cannot recommend this place enough. We will definitely come back.
