Yorke Lodge Bed and Breakfast is a family run B&B located only 10 minutes stroll to the City Centre & Cathedral. Built in 1887 the house still retains many of its original features today. Now with 9 en suite bedrooms this is a quintessential Victorian Villa. Facilities include a beautiful light filled conservatory for breakfast, comfortable guests' lounge and sun terrace. All bedrooms are recently refurbished & offer a comfortable ‘home from home’ feel but with all the modern day extras you would expect to see in a hotel. The B&B is dog friendly, has a lovely garden and is a peaceful oasis if you'd prefer not to be right in the city centre. Vicky O’Shea has owned and run Yorke Lodge for over 18 years and loves welcoming guests every day. You can be assured of a warm welcome, local knowledge and friendly, personal service throughout your stay.

What a wonderful find. Very friendly and helpful staff with good recommendations for food etc. Visiting from Canada so this was our first visit to this area. B & B very clean, bathroom and shower very accessible as it can be a problem sometimes. The breakfasts were delicious, really good choices. Very easy walk into Canterbury. I would highly recommend this B & B

The warmest welcome and the greatest service throughout our stay. Vicky and her team ensure everyone has everything they need. The rooms are tastefully presented with quality bedding on the comfiest beds. Lots of thoughtful extra touches, sweet dish, mending kit, books and well stocked tea and coffee tray. Breakfast had many fresh and locally sourced options including fruits, cereals and a range of home cooked selections. As a coeliac I enjoyed a full cooked breakfast and eggs on toast with full confidence that my needs were being met. Would return again at any time.

Home away from home. I've stayed in this beautiful, quiet, clean B&B for quite a few times, and I always feel right at home. The owner, Vicky O'Shea, does everything to make guests feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. The comfy beds allow a good night's rest. Breakfast in the spacious breakfast room is a delight - you have a choice of fresh fruit, yoghurt, several cereal options and and cooked breakfast dishes which can be adapted to your preference. You can sit in the sitting room on the first floor in the evenings to read or play a game (choice of board games and books provided). The B&B has parking on site and is a 10-min walk into the city center. Excellent location to explore Canterbury or the surrounding area. Definitely recommend this place and will stay there again.

I stayed at this B&B for one night, midweek with 4 other friends. It was absolutely immaculately presented with a great attention to detail. Breakfast was lovely and fresh too. It is slightly further out of the city centre - 10 min walk, but worth it for the quality of surroundings. Highly recommended.

Yorke lodge was in a good location around a 10min walk from the centre of town. The room was a superior Double room and it faced the front of the property for a superior room it was very small as was the en-suite bathroom. There was 1 chair that was under the desk that doubled up as tea and coffee and getting ready and a TV stand, There was no space for a comfy place to sit. The bed was very comfy and the bedding was lovely and fresh the room was clean and warm. There was a great list of suggested restaurants and bars nearby. The shower was not very good it was either scolding hot or freezing cold it was impossible to get a good in between temperature. Breakfast was nice but pastries would have been nice on the cereal table not as a main option instead of an English breakfast, and the conservatory it was held in was beautifully decorated. FYI the owner has a dog and goes out to walk it so maybe ring to see best times for check in I think we was lucky to catch her when she was in.

Some times you know how your stay will be by The communication prior to your arrival. This was the case at York Lodge. I exchanged a number of emails with the owner as I had to have a package delivered prior to my arrival. Vicky was more than accommodating and allowed a me to have a package delivered prior to my arrival and she held it until my arrival.
The accommodations were more than appropriate. Plush towels were provided, as well as robes, toiletries, a map of the area and suggestions for lunch and dinner.
The location is conveniently located a short 5-10 minute walk from the train station, the numerous shops and restaurants in Canterbury as well as Kent University.
The staff that works with Vicky (owner), Julie and Celia are helpfully and have a great sense of humor to start your day.
Vicky who obviously puts her heart and soul into this business is friendly and pleasant to speak with and has a quick wit.
I can not recommend this place enough this place enough. We will be returning.

A wonderful welcome from Vicky who made us all feel very at home. What beautiful rooms with every comfort and we especially appreciated the large ground floor room (no stairs!) and walk in shower. Our family were spread out on each floor and each room was the same high standard. The breakfast was first class and such a lovely place to sit. Although a chilly weekend all rooms and breakfast room were warm and cosy.

This is a first class place to stay. The host is most welcoming, the property spotless, the bedrooms most comfortable and breakfast delicious.
The host is so accommodating and made me feel like a regular even though it was my first visit.
This will be my go-to place in the future when in Canterbury.

A really lovely B&B. Comfortable, clean and peaceful. What more could you want? I stayed here overnight for a work commitment at the University of Kent the next day. The University is just a short drive (7 minutes) or walk away so Yorke Lodge is very conveniently located. It's also just a short walk (5 minutes) to Canterbury Town Centre. I arrived by car and was able to park at Yorke Lodge itself. The main train station, Canterbury West, is about 5-10 minutes walk. I stayed in the small double room overlooking the back garden which is perfect for a short stay and very quiet. Breakfast is served from 0800 to 0900 but as I had an early start the owner very kindly prepared my breakfast early so that I could get to my first meeting by 0815. I'd recommend Yorke Lodge and would stay here again for a short visit.

We stayed at Yorke Lodge for our 30th wedding anniversary and so glad we chose this B & B. Vicky was the perfect host and the room was super clean and comfortable with a selection of teas and coffee. The bathroom was equipped with fluffy towels, bathrobes and a range toiletries. Breakfast is served by lovely staff in a bright spacious conservatory with a range of fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals and a great cooked selection - eggs are fantastic. We will definitely return at some point in the future!
