Mr Eslam greeted us with a very welcome cup of tea and biscuits for which we were very grateful after a long day travelling. Clare Ellen Guest House is easy to find and is situated within easy walking distance of Canterbury and its Cathedral, etc. Our room was very clean and overlooked a road. However, although it was a very... More

We booked 2 rooms at the Clare Ellen guest house for my daughters graduation. Check in was 2pm but we arrived at 12.30 and needed to get changed. The lady that greeted us was very welcoming explained rooms weren't ready but would let us use them to change in and we could leave our bags in the rooms. This was... More

At short notice we spent a day and night in Canterbury en route to catch the ferry to France. We rang the Clare Ellen Guest House following a visit to the Tourist Information office and Mr Eslam kindly agreed to keep the booking open whilst we were awaiting another decision - not in connection with accommodation. We confirmed the booking... More

I stayed just for the one night, it was booked by my company and they use this guesthouse quite often I am led to believe. I arrived quite late at night and was happily surprised at the standard of the room, which was welcome after a long day of traveling. Unlike many guesthouses there was a fridge in the room.... More

This is a typical B&B without any of the negative points that you often fear it will have. By that I mean awful aged deco, dodgy breakfast and a small cramped bedroom. This B&B is all the contrary. The room was a nice and cosy spacious ensuite, the carpets and curtains as well as the linen looked very new, the... More

Me and my friend went to Canterbury for a short break and were looking for a simple, cheap room to spend a night in. We got much more than we expected. Hosts were very helpful and welcoming, room was spacious, spotless and with everything one could need - en-suite bathroom with free toiletries, towels, tea/coffee making things, hair-dryer, tv in... I have stayed here before, it's a good B&B , quite near the center of Canterbury (10 mins walk). Clean rooms with television, good beds , coffee and tea available in room. I had the single room , with separate showerroom and toilet, my son and daughter in law had a larger room next doo to mine. Good breakfast and... More

The owner on arrival was extremely helpful, letting us put our bags in early so as to explore the town. He showed us how to get to town and supplied a map. Parking must be a nightmare in the town, so to find a hotel a short walk away and free parking is a big plus. The room was spotless... More

The guesthouse is all what we hoped for on a short trip. Very friendly host + staf, easy to communicate with. Quite surroundings during the night. Excellent breakfast, with fresh fruit e.g. apples from own garden. Various restaurants nearby + easy walk to and from railway station and city centre.

Lovely b&b, relatively close (walkable) to Canterbury centre. Really wanted an ensuite with a bath & was given the only room with one, but was a little disappointed that it was not full sized, so you could not have a soak. However the room was spotlessly clean, if a little small, but good value for money for local b&b's. Stayed... More
