Visited Dover in Early July 2013, I can honestly say this place was perfect, We stayed in the basement apartment, but it was more like having your own apartment, did not feel like a basement at all (So i dont know why the other guest made the comments below, he could have asked for another room lol), we had out own super large bedroom, living room, dining room, separate bathroom and there is a kitchen too. Private access from the back, with a patio area, where we felt safe leaving our car and our own front door entrance, there was so much light in the apartment and was extremely spacious. Not to mention how modern and stylish the whole house looked!

To top of the amazing accommodation, our host Grace was extremely accommodating, meeting our every needs and making that extra effort to ensure we had a great stay. Her breakfast is amazing (especially hers scrambled eggs) , she made the guest house seem more like a home away from home, rather than just another hotel

As for the location, the high street is a 10second walk away, near the shops, bars and restaurants (no noise is heard from the house), the beach being a 5min walk and the port a 10-15min walk, everything we needed was so close

I have never written a review on tripadvisor before, but this place definitely deserved one! Great place to stay, I would recommend anyone to stay here, being as a family, friends, couples, business, or even solo

Thank you again Grace!!!!!

PS: We spoke to some of the other guests during breakfast and they were all equally as happy with the accommodation as we were!

I loved this B&B we were lucky to be in walking distance of everything. Free parking. views of the castle of the top large family room was amazing laying on the bed looking at the views of the castle were unbelievable. Lots of stairs but that was worth for the view. Excellent value for money. The bed was comfortable nearly to comfy, I did not want to get up. Very quiet and the fantastic la Scale just a stone through away. The breakfast was very nice and the owner was very friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at No 7 Priory Guest house during the easter break. Grace is a very nice host and ever willing to help in all ways. Breakfast was good and place was superb - in Decor , amenities and in cleanliness. I just booked a Double room but I was pleasantly surprised to see it was more of a self contained flat that we actually got. There were not much of views outside as mine was in the basement but I really liked the cleanliness and the size of flat (which came with the double room). It is a real value for money if you are visiting Dover. The Location is quite good - close to railway st, in city centre and next to high street

Just not my cup of tea and overpriced for location and amenities. I expect guest lounges, books available etc for over £100 per night. Grace the owner is very pleasant but more boarding house than guest house. There was food in the freezer the apartment in the basement and I had the distinct impression that the apartment had been vacated by its permanent resident so I could stay.
Breakfast is now made avaiblein your room, didn’t have it, went out.

A bit small & cramped, had to climb 4 lots of stairs with heavy suitcases. No where to put cases so climbing over them in room. Breakfast ok, not ideal eating in bedroom when so cramped .Nice shower. Too much furniture for a small room, my advice, lose the wardrobe and put a rail in alcove and small draw under. most guests would only stay 1 night don’t need all that furniture. Noisy fridge.
Guest house in good location. Only stayed one night before a cruise.

Was looking forward to a B&B that wasn't faceless like big chains! However on arrival we were a little disappointed. We were on the top floor in a family room. Lovely views of Dover castle but the place seemed dated, with evidence of damp/water damage. The website made the b&b look modern, boutique, clean & cosy. This felt very different to that! Lovely sash windows, but single glazed which resulted in a very noisy night. I appreciate that we are not used to traffic noise where we live but the road was v busy and there were lots of party goers during the night! The host Grace seemed delightful and was very helpful! We booked a table at a little Italian round the corner (la Scala) which was lovely x

We come from rural Cornwall, so staying in this luxury B&B in the Conservation area of Dover was a real treat. Previous guest commented on the noise from being in the centre of Dover...well...we come from Dartmoor and we had a wonderful nights sleep!
Being in the old heart of Dover was so convenient for eating out and viewing the historic parts of Dover that we wanted to see. Price was excellent, in fact it was cheaper than Premier Inn that week ! And double the luxury factor! The room was HUGE, the decoration lovely and a huge bathroom with shower PLUS tub !!

We had a first floor huge bedroom with two queen sized beds and our own huge bathroom with freestanding clawfooted bathtub and a corner stand up shower cubicle. Our Australian Son lives in London, my Husband and I visited UK in May 2016 and we wished to see The White Cliffs and Dover Castle. Fortunately our Son booked an overnight stay at Number 7 The Priory. Thankyou to Grace for making us feel so welcome and supplying a generous and tasty breakfast. An interesting area to visit, I just wish we had stayed longer

Stayed here for a few days last week and had the basement suite. A lovely, bright, airy and very large area with separate rooms and front and rear entrances, it's like having an apartment to yourself. As it's only partially underground you do not feel like you are in a basement at all and wi-fi works in all areas of the suite.

Grace went above and beyond at all times to provide a superior service and a very friendly atmosphere. No 7 is within walking distance of everything you could need, the high street is one street over, the port is a short walk and same with the castle.

Breakfast is lovely and Grace was willing to provide alternatives (ask for the scrambled eggs, they are amazing!), and is more than accomadating and always willing to assist her guests. Highly recommend this as THE place to stay in Dover.

Grace lived up to her name as a host, the house is very close to everything and on quite busy street, we had a front room and the noise didn't cause us any problem, although the traffic starts early. We had a lovely big room and huge bathroom, very clean, but the queen bed was very soft and we rolled to the middle. Very nice breakfast, safe off street parking. Thanks for a nice night. We only gave it three because we have stayed in some pretty high end bb's on the trip, not because we were dissatisfied.

Dover itself seems to be a bit of a stopover town, not much except the castle and cliffs.
