Got there early and checked in straight away, room was beautiful, abundance of complimentary toiletries and coffee etc, very clean, and bed really comfortable, nice view of marina, and could see connexin live from our window. Had some nice drinks in the bar while watching rugby, staff were really nice and welcoming, even the locals were nice and gave advice on where to go, we had some beautiful food, chilli burger n classic burger, very nice, compliments to the chef, the bar lady was really lovely and friendly. The hotel is ideally located for the connexin and town centre, just a short walk over the bridge, would absolutely stay here again, parking was spot on, camera straight on our car and could stay parked until midnight on our check out day. The hotel was easy to find even with road works and my husbands lack of direction lol, I would give this place 11/10, top notch xxx

We stayed for one night on a Saturday in ‘The Apartment’ this is our 2nd time staying in this room, the first being 2020 and it was as good as we remember. The room is spacious, clean and cosy. There is a fridge, microwave, sink & tea coffee making facilities. In the bedroom there are little emergency packs of cotton wool, ear buds, sewing kits etc, didn’t need but an amazing touch! There is free WiFi throughout and a choice of really comfy seats to watch tv. The best thing about this room is the free standing tub, in the bedroom! Had a fantastic next sleep & couldn’t hear a peep from the roadworks. We live in hull but chose to stay here for a relaxing staycation night away just for a change of scenery and will definitely be back.

Decided to give Whittington and cat a try for Sunday lunch , and have to say we was not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Th drinks are reasonably priced and the food is good value for money and very filling. I had the roast lamb dinner and my partner had the steak and ale pie which was a massive wedge. The only thing that would of been nice as an option as a side dish is cauliflower cheese but can not fault it. Definitely recommend booking for a Sunday.

A very warm welcome on arrival, room was very clean and well presented. With toiletries, tea & coffee making facilities and bottled water also available. Ideal for a 1 night stay over in the area for business. Quick pint and some food (Again well proportioned and tasty, Surf and Turf and a pint of Guinness £20, cant go wrong) Definitely would stay there again if in the area. Currently there are road works on going and making getting there a bit more troublesome, but parking close by is available and included in the price of the hotel. However I could not hear any roadwork noise when in the bedroom, therefore a good night sleep.

Comfortable four poster room (Emerald), friendly staff. The food is fantastic, well cooked and presented large portions very reasonably priced. Easy access to the room when owners not on site. Free parking in the retail car park, ( you give the pub your car reg to facilitate this ). Short walk into city centre, very close to Bonus Arena.

Have just returned from a two night stay with two other couples for a football weekend. The owner and staff can’t do enough for you to make your stay so enjoyable. After contacting the hotel before hand we were able to check in early so we could stay our weekend early. The rooms are amazing, clean and have everything needed in there. We were in the apartment which is huge and amazing value. The other two double rooms were very luxurious. The bar downstairs is very welcoming with great value drinks served by the most welcoming staff. Even though we didn’t eat there the food looks amazing quality and value. Thank you all for making the weekend special and see you again soon 👍

I had a warm greeting when checking in. The single room was small but very clean and nicely equipped with hospitality tray. The shower room was immaculate with plenty of hot water. The cost is much cheaper than other hotels in the area, and I'm sure it is more comfortable than many of them. I did not have time to eat, but the dinner menu sounded lovely with a good choice at a reasonable price The Whittington is very handy for Hull Arena, the marina and Princes Quay. It's about 20-30 mins steady walk from the train station. Check in works round the pub opening times and breakfast is not provided. This is made quite clear when booking so there are no surprises. There's a Greggs practically next door and a Costa a little further so it is easy enough to grab something to eat. Only slight negative (and this is no fault of the hotel, is the amount of construction in the area. During my visit, they were working during the night and there was some noise.

Fantastic welcoming when checking in yesterday rooms are very clean and pleasant and the home-cooked fresh food is second to none. The place has a very welcoming and cosy feel and the staff go out of their way to make you welcome. Seriously consider this before booking into one of the typical chain hotels in Hull as they simply cannot compete on price and experience!!!

Absolutely awful experience at the pub. We had pre-booked a table on a Sunday before an ice hockey match after travelling from Scotland. We had advised the pub that everybody would be there at 3:15 and asked for food at 3:30- as we needed to be at the ice rink for 4:30. After waiting an hour for food. We asked the staff where the food was as we had pre booked it. We were then told that just because we’d pre booked the food it then goes into a queue and we still have to wait. We were then told by a young lad that ‘we should have just booked earlier’ and we had no apology. The food then came out and we were having to wait around for gravy and veg. The vegetarian meals then came out well after everyone else had started. Absolutely shocking customer service and we will not be returning. No discount or apology received when paying either.

Hi, firstly, thank you for your review and secondly nowhere on your booking request did it state you wanted to eat at 3.30pm, only that you wanted to book a table for 3.30pm. It took until 3.50pm for all 14 of you to arrive. As a rule, we would not start any food unless the full party are present, sat and have drinks. You started complaining within 15 minutes of being sat down and the manager came over and spoke to you, showed you the email you sent, which you accepted. There was no order on there for a vegetarian. As i recall some of your party ordered a starter, which would naturally come before your main courses and someone actually ordered a dessert. An hour to technically have 3 courses for 14 people is slightly unrealistic in any establishment, never mind a small family pub with one chef and 12 other tables to serve. We ask for a pre order for parties over 8, this does not mean you go to the front of the queue when you arrive as other people have also been waiting. Lastly, you state you had to leave at 4.30pm for the game, however, this is when doors open, the game actually started at 5.30pm.

Very friendly staff, we ate in the pub/restaurant and enjoyed a great meal which was very reasonably priced. The room was beautifully decorated and laid out and very comfortable. The only thing we found strange is that the en-suite bathroom had a WC, basin and a large feature bath but no shower. There was a hand held shower on the bath that you could wash your hair with over the bath but you couldn't have a shower! Apart from that it was a very nice place to stay.
