Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautifully appointed main suite with elegant decor and a huge soaker tub. The bed was plush and comfortable and the room well furnished and supplied. Gill was very friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome. Despite the current road works, the hotel was easy to find and access. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely awful experience at the pub. We had pre-booked a table on a Sunday before an ice hockey match after travelling from Scotland. We had advised the pub that everybody would be there at 3:15 and asked for food at 3:30- as we needed to be at the ice rink for 4:30. After waiting an hour for food. We asked the staff where the food was as we had pre booked it. We were then told that just because we’d pre booked the food it then goes into a queue and we still have to wait. We were then told by a young lad that ‘we should have just booked earlier’ and we had no apology. The food then came out and we were having to wait around for gravy and veg. The vegetarian meals then came out well after everyone else had started. Absolutely shocking customer service and we will not be returning. No discount or apology received when paying either.

Loved our stay, free car parking at rear of the pub, which has two really nice bars. Had two meals both of which were excellent. Staff were professional and friendly. Our room was modern and spotlessly clean. This was our first visit but definitely not the last! Highly recommended.

This is a Gem of a place, Clean room, all facilities, friendly staff and also lovely food in the pub! The location is right by Marina with a shopping outlet next door. Gill the owner couldn't do anymore for us! My sister and I were catching the P&O ferry the next day. Very reasonable price too.

Well, if you wish to visit Hull and want a good value and very well presented place to stay look no further. The staff are all very helpful ,bedroom 1st class and great food and beer. Do not judge a book by the cover this place was as good as any 5 star hotels I have been in,they accepted our booking even though we had made a mistake and booked for September 2024. It's rare for me to give such a strong review, but this place is worth it.
