You can’t go wrong staying here, Great rooms with everything you need and very clean. The breakfasts are unbeatable for choice and quality. But the main highlight of this establishment is how the staff look after the guests. They are all friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. No doubt we’ll be back again next year.

Plus Great to see that the Salutation hotel continues to maintain its high standards of service and quality….unfortunately not always the case. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night visit and already planning our next trip Negative Only issue was a harder than would have like mattress so sleep was not perfect. More my problem than the hotels!

This hotel is independent and of high quality. The staff are attentive. The pool area is lovely and tranquil and the outside spa is perfect. Our room was perfect with whirlpool bath and outside hot tub.

We arrived on the Friday to prosecco and cakes, including gluten free which was a massive bonus for me. The weekend was fun and entertaining and we were looked after so well by the team. We love coming here as we can relax and unwind

The Salutation is the perfect place for relaxation, comfort, fabulous food and excellent service. From the moment you walk through the door you receive a genuinely warm welcome. The staff are outstanding and are obviously handpicked as they are an exceptional team. This is our favourite hotel and when we leave we feel cosseted, relaxed and pampered and we never want to leave.

What an amazing relaxing spa treatment!! I had an amazing full body massage with a facial as I’d been suffering with a really sore back and hips being 24 weeks pregnant. My skin had been breaking out due to over exerting myself over the weekend and I left feeling a smooth and hydrated. Anita went above and beyond her station to make sure that I was comfortable and relieved all the aches and pains away. I could have stayed there for ever! The heated water mat (that you lie on) was incredible feature and reduced the pressures of lying on my back. It made the whole experience so comfortable. I wish I could have taken it home! Thanks again Anita, the whole experience was just wonderful and I left feeling so relaxed.

The hotel is in the centre of Ambleside so near to everything. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are great and the bed was so comfy. There was a group of 10 of us and we will all be going back

The hotel is gorgeous. Everything you would expect. The staff are very professional and friendly. The room is clean and the bed is so comfy. The spa treatment was just fantastic and the pool and hot tub very lovely. In the centre of the town so very convenient location.

Staff are very welcoming and I can’t fault the housekeeping, fresh bedding and towels every day. Spa was spotless and was great to get out of the inclement weather. The breakfast was great and nothing was too much trouble. So why haven’t I given it 5*. The room - on seeing it I was a little disappointed, the website gives a distorted picture of the size of the rooms. When booking there was limited availability so upgraded to a club balcony room. The en-suite was very small. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was fine but not restaurant food. We also got forgotten when we asked for the dessert menu, gave up waiting. The Westmorland membership is certainly worthwhile. We will stay again but now I know how the hotel works would discuss room options in more detail. It is the top end price wise if a 3* hotel but that is due to the spa facilities. …
