Having booked before the onset of the Covid19 outbreak, we arrived at Nanny Brow to find that a number of government restrictions had been put in place immediately prior to our arrival (inc restaurants and pubs to close) Irrespective, Sue and Peter adapted to the new regs and made sure we were made very welcome - even if at a distance! We were upgraded and the room was lovely. Breakfast was great and we particularly loved the pancakes Sue and Peter did everything they could to make this an enjoyable stay despite the situation - we will definitely be back when things return to normal. Thank you

Thank you for this review which will probably be our last for a while given the current situation with Covid 19 outbreak. It was certainly a weekend that neither of us will forget, but delightful to meet you both anyway. Please stay safe and well and we look forward to meeting you both on the other side of this. Kind regards Sue

Wonderful welcome, fantastic room. On checking in we were asked about any dietary requirements ( my husband is a vegetarian and was happy when he was offered vegitarian sausages) we had been in a hotel the night before and vegitarian options were very limited. I had the special of the day which was delicious The sour dough bread was a refreshing change to the usual options we have had elsewhere. The room was warm and welcoming with a beautiful view. We are looking forward to visiting again next year for my birthday.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review we always enjoy reading our guest reviews. I am delighted you enjoyed your room (Loweswater) as you said the views are stunning hopefully when you return it will be warmer and you will be able to sit out on the private balcony from the rooms lounge.. Its a shame you only spent a night with us as there are lots of other options for our vegetarian guest as well as other dietary preferences for your husband to sample. Thank you again for all your lovely comments and we look forward to welcoming you both back for your birthday. All the best Sue

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of Feb and had a brilliant stay at Nanny Brow. We were very kindly upgraded by Susan and the team but the B&B is just lovely in all the rooms we saw. Loved that the hotel doesn’t take children and pets. It’s just perfect for couples who need a quiet relaxing break! I’m annoyingly allergic to dogs which makes finding a hotel in countryside locations which is pet free difficult. Although there is a hotel dog here which I wouldn’t have minded, Susan was able to keep him away which I am so grateful for, Thank you! Breakfast was great. All you could wish for, cooked to order and plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt etc Also the cakes they bake fresh every day and leave in the rooms are delicious!!! We travelled up from London and didn’t take a car. Taxis cost £5 each way into Ambleside and from there you can get around easily on buses which are ridiculously scenic! You can also take the boat across the lake to Windermere, Bowness etc We felt really at home and looked after here and will definitely stay again. Thanks for a wonderful stay

My wife and I had a most enjoyable 3-night stay in early February. Right from the moment of our arrival Elliot made us most welcome, helping with our luggage and describing some of the many arts and crafts features of the house. Our room, Lingmoor, was comfortable and we had wonderful views down the valley. Breakfast was excellent including home-made muesli, lots of delicious fresh fruit as well as cooked favourites. The location of Nanny Brow suited us very well as a base to explore the local area. We're looking forward to a return visit before too long.

The food, the views, the hotel, everything here is beautiful! We celebrated my wife's 40th birthday at Nanny Brow - Had a fabulous time, didn’t want to leave. Staff so friendly and welcoming, food was amazing and everything we needed in the suite we stayed in was more than we expected. Rooms are cleaned to the highest standard and lovely home made cakes waiting in you room on arrival. Nanny Brow is a truly beautiful place to stay - Sue and Elliot will make you feel very welcome.

Thank you for your lovely review. It was delightful having you both to stay especially after all the help you have given us with the adjacent land owned by the national trust since we have been here. I am so pleased the secret was kept by all and that Amanda was totally surprised by her stay even down to us singing happy birthday when we brought out her breakfast with a candle in it. Please remember that the best deals are always to be found by booking directly with us and we appreciate all our guests like you that do this. All the best for 2020 Sue
