We arrived to a very warm welcome and were quickly shown to our room. As we had taken our dog, we were put in doggie friendly room 15. Awaiting Astra was a bowl complete with various treats, a doggie towel to dry her after her numerous swims in the lake and a letter explaining doggie dos and donts - all...

We booked this hotel by chance. What a memorable few days we spent there.Everything we ate and especially the dishes on the evening menu was literally a wonderful experience. We ordered our 3 courses from the menu each evening but each meal had surprise culinary treats all along the way. Each evening started with delicious, intense but light delicacies while...

Have had a lovely relaxing mini break at this hotel. Very attentive and friendly staff, lovely ambience and very comfortable. The prosecco on arrival was a lovely welcome. We enjoyed a game of Scrabble in the lounge with drinks and complimentary crisps and nuts. Will definitely return - thank you.

If you are a foodie/ wine lover look no further - this is the Lake District hotel for you. The restaurant was amazing - a real experience, and the tasting menu is well worth a try, so many different courses and all so, so good! We had smoked mackerel served in a cloche with hickory smoke inside. Everything was delicious,...

The hotel was a 3 star for the room and a 5 star for food and service. Our room, whilst of a really good size, was very 1980s in style and beginning to show its age. The bathroom was also rather dated and poorly lit. The shower was little more than a dribble. The room had a large balcony and...

Very nice location, no problem parking in hotel car park, hotel areas we saw were beautifully decorated and very comfortable having been recently refurbished. Afternoon tea was absolutely delicious and well balanced. I won't go into too much detail as it might spoil it for others but you have a choice of many types of tea and the savoury selection...

From the minute we arrived at the hotel, we were treated like royalty. Our check in was very slick and we were personally escorted to our room. The room has been recently renovated and I have to say it was to a high standard and very comfortable. It had everything we needed-it was beautiful. We ate both on the A...

Visited for afternoon tea on a Saturday it was very quiet and relaxed eating in the lounge and we were the only ones in there which was a bonus. Variety of sandwiches, scones and cakes were on offer and all were extremely tasty and had such different flavours. Been to many afternoon teas and this is our favourite by far!!

We stayed quite by chance 11th February. It was my husbands 50 th and to cut a long story short I obviously didn't do my research enough as the place I had booked was a conference centre with no restaurant! In a complete distress we called a nearby hotel from google maps... thank goodness they had a room, a superior...
