The Skelwith Bridge Hotel continues to be a regular for our walking group. I think we've been visiting here for about ten years now. I suppose that fact in itself is testament to the quality of the hotel. Rooms are comfortable rather than fancy and decor is kept fresh. The restaurant here has always served good food and this year...

Stayed here in febuary for the close proximity for walks, lovely stay. The room was very adequate with plenty of space and a comfy bed and nice shower, the food in the bar was very good and much needed after long walks round langdale. The beer was very good and service was very friendly and efficient, definately worth recommend staying

It's a little bit of a hidden gem. Log fire on arrival. Friendly smiley staff who can't do enough for you. We were all made to feel most welcome and at ease. Good value for money too especially for the lakes. It adjoins the Talbot bar which we love too. Thank you to all the team

Visited on Sunday afternoon for lunch. Our food was lovely and the service professional. All of the staff on duty were so warm and friendly. Lots of parking onsite. This was our first visit but definitely not our last.

Very disappointed. Talbot bar is now run by very rude eastern Europeans, charging over inflated prices for drinks. £4.90 for an orange and lemonade. When I expressed my concern that this was more than their most expensive beer, they said tough, we don't set the prices. Extremely rude, won't go there again.

Great traditional hotel in superb location - staff v friendly and the bar and restaurant service were good. Very good value - single room B&B on a Friday night for £55. Evening meal was good although the bread roll was a bit like rubber -as if it had been heated in a microwave. My only plea would be on the...

Stayed here with friends as a base for a hike on the Fairfield horseshoe. Ample parking, Good size & clean rooms. Lovely dinner & breakfast the next morning. Only complaint was that the bedrooms can be noisy. Avoid room 5 if you want an early night and room 18 was also mentioned as a noisy one too. Staff are great...

Always visit here when we come to the Lake District to eat the steak and Jennings ale pie - delightful Warsteiner beer too. It is dog friendly and staff are helpful and welcoming. A must do when rambling in the Ambleside area.
