The staff at this hotel are amazing. Very attentive, helpful and cheery. We had half board with a huge room, super king size bed and good shower, just what you need after a day walking. The menu was different and interesting each night and the food was exellent. Huge variety at breakfast and enough to last the day.

Stopped here 30 jun - 2 July for a short break. We chose this hotel as we wanted to take our dog with us to the Lake District. Staff could not have been friendlier and accommodating. Food in both restaurant and adjoining Talbot bar excellent. Would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to explore the lakes with plenty of...

Booked here for a family event for 20 people, dinner plus rooms. Staff very helpful and changed menu for us. Dinner and rooms good value Only negative was that some of the puddings available in bar weren't available in restaurant, normally other way round

Stopped with my dad and 3 of his siblings for 4 nights in June and had a lovely time. The food is excellent and the staff very attentive and helpful. The gardens and hanging baskets are lovely, we had a fantastic view from our bedroom window. On the minus side, the annex steps need another rail and grab rail for...

We stayed in the Brathay View Cottage that's just the other side of the car park for our holiday and had a couple of lovely quiet evenings here for our tea (The steak and ale pie is to die for !) Very warm and welcoming atmosphere, staff very friendly. We will definitely be back on our next visit to The...

Spent 3nights in June (our 4th visit) and the whole team who work there are the most helpful people you could wish to meet. The food is out of this world and the rooms are very comfortable. The hotel is perfect for discovering the Lakes also plenty of walks near by.

Just returned from a 3 nt stay on a dbb deal. A lovely nice place, but our room not ideal. Partially our fault as we booked the grasmere suite which had no view and didn't suit us, so we asked for another room and had no choice but room 18. Large airy room, overlooking the field at the rear, unfortunately...

We have used this hotel many times in the past as a base for visiting the Lake District. However we had not been for nearly eight years and were interested to see if it had changed, We discovered that there had been a change of ownership since we were last there although we did recognise two of the original staff....

In my top three favourite hotels of all time... and one that we will revisit time and time again. The food is out of this world, the staff friendly and helpful and dog friendly to boot. 11 out of 10! Best hotel in the Lakes.
