This bed and breakfast is indeed on par with a luxury hotel. I was away on business and so glad I have found this place as I will certainly be here for my next business trip Or indeed a weekend away. The rooms are modern, clean and very spacious , with a lovely bathroom with spa bath. The pool and... More

We have never stayed here before but have seen it many times. I booked for my birthday and they offered us a four poster room (Room 1). I booked because it was a 15% discount during the quiter periods of November to January. For the price we paid the value was fine. We were met by Matthew who was very... More

On our way to Scotland, we are always looking for good stop over locations to rest after the long drive. This time, we stayed at the Old Vicarage for 3 nights in October 2016. The B&B is located in an ideal location near the centre of Ambleside. Quiet, idyllic, near a huge park which includes a lawn dedicated for dogs... More

Lovely place for short or longer breaks, I love the decor and being able to use the fabulous amenities such as the pool, was a bonus. The breakfast is delicious and you get exactly what you ask for, family and staff are all very welcoming and know the area well, can't recommend it highly enough.

We have just enjoyed our second stay in The Old Vicarage. We had a wonderful weekend, the staff made us feel so welcome, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, a real home from home. The pool and hot tub are a real bonus, and the robes provided make it all so easy. Breakfasts are generous, with plenty of... More

We've just returned from spending 2 wonderful nights at the Old Vicarage, and it was a fantastic experience. Our room (Garden Suite) was amazing and worthy of any 5* hotel, and the facilities throughout this B&B are great - the indoor pool and hot tub were a real bonus for relaxing after exploring. What really stands out though is the... More

You just knew from the moment you walked in that you were in the hands of professional B&B owners and not people trying out a new lifestyle. Very good staff, good sized room, fantastic shower, very good breakfast. Very convenient location for the town's pubs and restaurants. Nothing to find fault with.
