All the staff were extremely friendly and professional. Room was nice, but a bit warm. Breakfast exceptionally good, especially the scrambled egg and smoked salmon. Decent sized car park. High quality restaurant, nicely laid out and furnished. I walked very briskly into Ambleside town centre and it took 15 minutes - count on 20 minutes if you go at a...

One Hour wait for Main Course and arrogant manager My wife and I stayed overnight on the way to Scotland. The room was fine as were the staff on reception. The hotel is in an excellent position and, but for our dining experience, we would rate the hotel highly. Dinner was a disaster with staff offering "more bread" every 10...

We found that The Regent has pleasant, helpful staff, good food and represents good value. The hotel is a fifteen minute walk from Ambleside town centre and two minutes from the lake. The rooms are comfortable and have been upgraded over the years that we have been visiting. Overall the quality of the hotel has been consistently high.

We had lovely comfortable rooms at reasonable prices including a massive breakfast which was provided until 12pm, perfect for lie-ins! The waiting staff were great always helpful and friendly and the chef is amazing. They can cater for gluten and lactose intolerances as well!! Well done all. The jacuzzi bath in the sail loft was broken which was a bit...

We have been staying at this hotel many times during the past 20 years. The owners pride themselves on providing quality accommodation, great food, and friendly efficient staff. The hotel is situated in a delightful spot close to Lake Windermere. We are already booked to return at the end of August and again in late October.

2nd time staying at The Regent Hotel, accomadation this time was the Latterbarrow Suite, say no more other than great. On arrival yet again greeted with such professional and polite reception staff, nothing was too much bother. 1st night had dinner in the restaurant and the food, waiting on staff and atmosphere could not be faulted. Not only would I...

The Regent is in an enviable position at Waterhead and is a modern and efficiently run family hotel. We had to leave after one night but the staff were very understanding and it was not a problem. Fantastic breakfast with just about anything you could wish for. We will definitely return here next time we are in the Lakes.

Booked here after looking for dog friendly hotels in the Lake District. We loved it. Nice room, lovely breakfast, great location, great staff. What more do you need. Our wee dog was able to join us in the bar for breakfast and she was allowed in the bar before 6 pm and after 9 pm for drinks. Would certainly book...
