We went for one of the Lakeview and woodland pitches and the view was so obscured by trees that we could barely see the lake. There was however no tree cover which is what we were hoping for, but instead it was in a clearing. The pitch was on a slope and as it rained water ran under our tent...

Me and my mate camped here in a pod last weekend and although the place it self is great, the service I thought was poor, we planned to arrive at 7pm but because of an accident on the motor way we arrived at 9:15pm, on the website it claims reception is open until 9pm and if your arriving late then...

Last minute find for a break in the Lake District. The Pod offered the shelter we needed, plus the campsite was well laid out and had everything we needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will return again next year to do some canoeing and mountain biking.

We enjoyed our stay. Previously we stayed in a yurt which was a lot more private therefore found this a bit too busy. Saying that waking up to fells around you compensated for it. We did climb a few fells and found a couple of nice pubs. It was nice that we had a hob inside our yurt but I...

What a wonderful experience! We arrived on a Friday evening around 8pm and it was getting quite dark so we were eager to get settled into our pod. This in itself was a new experience as we generally camp in tents. We opted for the family pod which was more than big enough for myself, my husband two teenage daughters...

After booking we had a bit of trouble when we discovered cars could not be parked near pitches. This was very hard to find on the website and I think it should be made more obvious! As we had a dog we wanted the car close by as this was where the dog was sleeping. We phoned up to see...

National Trusts campside outside Ambleside has good facilities and a shop. Its about 5 km from town - the busstop is ca 20 min walk away. Its possible to walk to ambleside using the walking/biking path. If you walk/bike/bus here you will get the green discount, 5 £ a night. Low Wray castle is a short walk away.

This is our fifth visit to Low Wray campsite. Initially we were blown away when we pitched our tent right next to Lake Windermere; what a view waking up and eating breakfast. The next visit was cooler weather (September & October) so we took a pod overlooking the Lake and went back there a couple more times as they're so...

Me and my boyfriend stayed here from the 30th September to the 2nd October. Now since I've done my fair share of travelling I always check tripadvisor for info on the site and most reviews on this place were pretty good, but always very opinionated, of course mine will be too. But from a more neutral perspective... I hope Pitches:...

We stayed here for two nights in Septemeber in our own tent, the site as a whole could be kept in a better state, ie grass needed cutting and shower blocks/toilets could do with more regular cleaning (although they were not disgraceful by any means). On both nights we stayed there was a commotion, there does not seem to be...
