Wow...just had 2 nights as a treat from my husband & we didn’t want to leave. Location is so peaceful yet just a 10 minute (steep) walk down to town. We chose to walk as we don’t mind the climb back up although taxis are available. Many wonderful walks on the doorstep & loads of information supplied in the room. Fridge is filled with your breakfast supplies & everything is so fresh & a lovely table setting. Beautiful Laura Ashley theme running through & the views from all angles are stunning. The hens roam around & make this so special & produce gorgeous eggs too. The hosts leave you in total peace & other than check in/out we never needed to disturb each other. We most certainly will return to this beautiful place & have fallen for walking in our beautiful Lake District, thank you for your wonderful hospitality & allowing us to share your beautiful home. …
We came here for our New Year’s getaway (30th Dec - 2nd Jan 2020) and were absolutely thrilled with what we found. Our suite (Kirkstone) was absolutely perfect; underfloor heating in all rooms, freshly stocked fridge for a continental style breakfast - including bread, eggs, croissants, fruit, yoghurt and proper coffee (hence no need to be up for a specified breakfast time). We were pleased to find a gorgeous big bathroom with shower and a full sized bath, the living room furnishings and the large bed were all gloriously comfortable - most welcome after a winter walk! The property is situated up a hill (therefore the views are spectacular) this also means that it’s far enough away from the town to be tranquil and relaxing, but near enough that getting into town isn’t difficult - either a 10min walk down the hill, or about £4 in a taxi. This was our first visit but we plan to return with friends and family. Recommended! …
What a beautiful place to stay. This is one of the nicest b&b’s we have stayed in. We stayed in the smaller of the two rooms & it was plenty big enough for two people. The room was spotless & had everything you needed. For us it suited us fine with the breakfast arrangements. It came in handy having the small kitchenette as we were out for the day hiking so we could prepare our lunch to take with us. It is about 10 minutes walk into town & a bit longer coming back & yes it is a hill but it was fine for us. Overall I would definitely recommend this b&b & we will definitely be back! Thank you.
Our second visit to Willowbank was just as good as the first, simply outstanding! Teresa’s finishing touches make all the difference, especially the beautifully baked cakes at the end of a long days walking, superb!
I'd lost the habit of writing Tripadvisor reviews but the standard of accomodation and standard of service at Willowback has prompted me to write this. Teresa, the owner, was waiting to greet us as we arrived. She showed us to our room, Kirkstone, my first thoughts were that she had taken us into the guest lounge it was so big and well equiped. We were expecting a room but, as several others have written, their 2 guest rooms are suites not rooms. The larder was well stocked with more than enough food for a hearty breakfast with plenty left for a snack in the afternoon if required. Terasa replenished the larder daily and always left something deliciious for us to have with a cup of tea when we returned in the afternoon from walking. We really enjoyed our stay at Willowbank.
