Fantastic property, super room, great choice and quality of breakfast and lovely owners and staff. Great location for all kinds of activities yet close enough to stroll to Ambleside for morning paper or evening meal. As we get older and can't manage the bigger and more remote mountains and fells this will definitely become our go to place in the Lakes.
Only stopped the one night on the way home from Scotland, but will be returning. Lovely property set in beautiful gardens with countryside views all around, yet only a 10 minute walk into Ambleside. We were on a motorbike which was safely left overnight in the secluded gated yard to the front of the property, with ample parking for cars. Great breakfast choice, freshly cooked to order. There really was nothing not to like.
We stayed at Crow How for a week while touring the Lake District. It is a beautiful old house that sits on several landscaped acres next to a farm. Our room,#1, had large windows overlooking the farm where we could watch the lambs and calves play. It is a great location as you can walk into Ambleside safely in about 15 minutes where there are numerous good restaurants and shops. The bus stop is close if you don’t want to drive. They served a nice breakfast each morning. We will definitely stay here again should we come back to this area.
Stayed for a few days following the May Bank holiday. This was the first time that we had stayed at Ambleside and it was a real treat. The term "B&B" doesn't convey the feeling of the place. It was peaceful, relaxing, charming. We were greeted by the owner (Jill) and went up to our room (Number 4). It was a really good size with a huge bed / small fridge / great bathroom and otherwise really well appointed. The breakfast was generous and set us up for the day. 'Crow How' is close to Ambleside (about a 15 minute walk) but has none of the hustle and bustle of being in the town. It is also on the local bus route and is convenient for getting to other parts of the Lakes. Altogether a lovely place with charming hosts who set out to make your stay as pleasant as you want it to be.
Great location, easy to access both Ambleside and Grasmere. Room was very nice with fab view of garden and beyond. It was nice not to have to book a breakfast time and order in advance. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.
