Lovely one night stay her (18th Feb ). This hotel is beautifully decorated. Staff friendly and really know their jobs. Nothing is to much trouble. Breakfast is very tasty and plentiful. Highly recommend and would defiantly return.

Popped in to the trout hotel on the off chance of some lunch back in December we had not visited since the floods had occurred the hotel looks lovely and fresh and the staff were all very pleasant. We decided to dine in the terrace and were greeted by a lovely lady called amy who asked if we had booked...

Visited the trout first week on reopening after the floods for a birthday. Done a great job on the hotel and food very good although seems less choice on the menu. I am a regular visitor to the terrace bar and have always enjoyed it.

We were down in the Lakes walking, and on the return journey passed through Cockermouth. As we were leaving town we were pleased to see the Trout was back open after what seemed a very long refurbishment. When we went inside, we could understand why, the interior of the Hotel is outstanding to see, we felt under-dressed!!! Anyway, we arranged...

Arrived on a three for two night stay. Even so still a bit expensive. The bedrooms have just been refurbished and I have to say, well equipped and luxurious. The bed was fantastically comfy and I slept like a log. Nice selection of teas and coffees in the room and a super bathroom with a nice shower and bath. The...

Wanted to give it a try after it had been closed for a while. Used to love the food. Staff don't say hello when you walk in and are not friendly. Food was average. Won't be going again. Go to veeva instead

The room was amazing value for money, breakfast plentiful, decor was great. Ideally situated for lakes but also West coast for sea & exploring! Cockermouth is a friendly lovely town. Sunday lunch great I wasn't feeling the ambience of the bistro was a bit clinical but that's my personal opinion it would definitely NOT put me off returning! Staff friendly...

We stayed over on a Sunday night and it was fairly empty. We had a lovely room, beds were extremely comfortable and decided to eat in the hotel. The hotel has recently been refurbished due to the floods last year and they have taken advantage of new furniture everywhere. The building is lovely and old with old beams and the...
