Graysonside Guest House is a former Farm House offering high quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation in Cockermouth. All rooms provide space, quality and comfort. Apartments are also available at affordable prices for both Bed and Breakfast and Self Catering. Graysonside is set within the Lake District National Park and is just a few minutes away from the centre of Cockermouth - home to one of our famous poets William Wordsworth. Graysonside suits both corporate/business and tourist guests, situated in a very good location for both the Western Lakes (Bassenthwaite, Loweswater, Crummock and Buttermere), as well as the towns of Workington, Whitehaven and Maryport. We are only 20 minutes' drive to Keswick and 30 minutes to Carlisle. Due to its location Graysonside is streaming with wildlife, we are regularly visited by a red squirrel, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, an abundance of garden birds on our feeders and rabbits roaming the garden. You can sit and watch our wildlife from our breakfast room. Graysonside also offers the additional benefits of free off road parking, a secure cycle lock up and free Wi-Fi. Graysonside has been recognized as five star gold by the English Tourism Council and rewarded a breakfast award. We look forward to welcoming you to Cockermouth and providing you with a wonderful stay at Graysonside.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Another lovely stay at peaceful Graysonside apartments, The Garden this time. Always comfy and clean with fresh flowers and thoughtful extras to keep us stocked up. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. We look forward to our next stay, thank you Janette.

We came down from Edinburgh for the food festival and saw the great reviews about Greonside. I did not disappoint.tranquillity and relaxation are on point here. So quiet and comfortable beds. Amazing large shower room and the best cooked breakfast and service. This is a 5 star experience. Thanks for a lovely stay. Highly recommended. Ross and Karen Sept 2023

A first class stay at Graysonside. Excellent accommodation located 1.4 miles from Cockermouth town centre. Beautifully kept property with rooms in the main house and separate spacious apartments. Can't speak too highly of Graysonside. A warm, friendly welcome, everything finished to exceptional standard, sparkling clean and warm. The breakfast was excellent. The accommodation apartments, a mix of modern and historic buildings are attractively placed giving the complex a sense of openness. Lovely place to stay in every sense.

Arriving in the area for work not having organised anywhere to stay, a work colleague recommended Graysonside. Over the following 3 months I stayed in five different rooms or apartments, all individual but always beautifully styled an maintained. I was well looked after by Jan and Andrew the staff and made to feel absolutely welcome. Breakfasts were nicely presented and great quality, from simple cereal and toast to the full cooked. Even if work doesn't take me to the area again, I shall definitely be back to be spoilt at Graysonside.

This place is great. Janette looked after us really well, as did her staff. The room we stayed in (4) was simply superb, with twin aspect windows overlooking the lovely gardens. The room itself was huge, with a matching sized, very comfortable bed, great bathroom and ample space around the bed itself. Janette was able to offer us one of the appartments, which was equally as nice, but we decided to stay in one of the superior rooms. On the morning of our departure Janette showed us around the facilities - there's all types of accommodation available, all very well decorated, clean and spacious. All the furniture and bits & bobs are quality and tasteful. Just a word about booking.......check with Janette on the phone, sometimes the web site doesn't reflect the actual availability - worth a phone call. Oh, breakfast is also excellent. Recommended - DEFINITELY. Thank you Janette for a lovely stay
