Good points - we felt the staff were very welcoming and pleasant at all times, the food was also good. The bar area was very nice as was the restaurant. Bad points - the prices for the "local" spirits very expensive and no prices on the chalkboard, we should have asked the prices because we certainly wouldn't have ordered the... More

A visit here in November, ( no special reason!) but very enjoyable nevertheless. A couple of calls to make enquiry and to book dinner, were dealt with very well by the young lady who booked us in when we actually arrived. Her consequent greeting was well beyond that in many much larger hotels, even to remembering that I had 'phoned, and mentioning it.The... More

A very pleasant hotel in a superb location with lovely views. We booked on a bargain break last year and the hotel cancelled due to local flooding and honoured the booking for this year which was very good of the manager. Our room was small but very nice withg a good en-suite on the second floor and had no view... More

This 2 night break at this hotel was bought for me as a present for my 40th birthday and I have to say the staff were great. But that's the only great thing! The room we were allocated was a good size but smelt of damp. The shower had a fair bit of mould and most annoyingly the toilet seat... More

Last minute booking for one night only. Was unable to book online as it's a minimum of 2 nights stay, phoned hotel direct. Lotti was amazing and was able to accommodate us in a double room with a mountain view. Lovely big room with everything as described on the website. Warm welcome, offer of help with luggage etc. Enjoyed pre-dinner... More

We stayed here for two nights - we only planned to stay one but we really liked it. The hotel is just outside the village of Coniston, it's a 5 minute stroll to the pub, and an excellent base for hillwalking. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. Breakfast set us up for a day's walking nicely - it... More

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had stayed previously and had good memories and that has not changed. A wonderful room overlooking the lake and very comfortable. Will return and hope for the same sunny weather! Thanks for a good stay.

Excellent place to stay. Good location with just a 5 minute walk into the village. Really nice views along the way. The lake is just at the side of the hotel and there is a jetty where you can take a boat around the lake. There is also a bench near the jetty where you can take in all of... More

We recently booked a night at this lovely looking hotel and we can honestly say we weren't disappointed. We were welcomed by a lovely lady on reception and our room was ready earlier than expected, which was a bonus for us arriving early! We stayed in room 3 which had a partial lake view. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean... More
