In general I don't stay in small guesthouses, and the thought of sharing a table at dinner is a non starter, but I put this all aside in order to stay at Stonegarth and be fed by Sharon. She and her husband had a hotel in Grasmere where we stayed several times, and when they retired I thought that was...

Lovely spacious rooms in a lovely town. Breakfast was good and the service was friendly without being over the top. Highly recommended. The centre of the town was a few minutes gentle stroll into town and pleasant walks are easily accessible in every direction. We stayed in a room on the top floor with 4 poster bed which was very...

Perfect hosts. Perfect food. Perfect accommodation.. Have been looked after by Sharon and Attilio for many years now. The standard remains at the highest possible. As soon as you arrive that relaxed homely feeling takes over. Only one complaint, we cannot eat full meals for at least a week after we arrive home. But who cares. Those who dont visit...

Where to start. This has to be one of the best guest houses we have stayed in.I am very fussy and this was First Class Accomodation. Large Bedroom , good sized En-Suite. Saw all the rooms and they are all lovely. Spotless rooms ,Comfy Bed. Beds are singles put together but not a problem at all. Everything is quality, from...

The welcome is warm... the hosts make you feel like you're coming home but maintain a professional air at all times... our beautiful room was immaculately maintained... nothing was too much trouble... and the smells coming from the kitchen made us want to stay for dinner. Thankyou Sharon and Attilio for contributing to a lovely weekend. You really made our...

We loved this place, some luxury after a hard days walking. Off the main road so nice and quiet, though within 1 minutes walk you're in the middle of Grasmere. This is the best we've stayed in for a long time. Your treated like family rather than guests. Evening meal can be provided, though we decided to walk in to...

It is wonderful to stay in such a lovely home, the owners Sharon and Attilio are great hosts and make you feel very welcome. The food is out of this world too. The property is ideal for Grasmere Village and the surrounding area. A perfect place to stay we shall be back.

An excellent stay, Sharon the owner was very helpful and a delight to talk to and made us feel very at home. A very good cooked breakfast and sandwiches for our walks and moments from local restaurants and amenities. A short weekend break in a beautiful village in the ideal Bed and Breakfast!

We were looking for a B&B that was within easy walking distance of the center of Grasmere and easily reachable by public transportation, and, fortunately, came upon internet references to Stonegarth. My email queries were quickly reponded to by Sharon, one of the owners, who turns out to be a magnificent chef as well. She was so helpful and accommodating...
