I've just enjoyed a great weekend at the Lancrigg over the New Year. Our room was very spacious and comfortable which was a good foundation for a brilliant weekend. The staff were very attentive, helpful and most pleasant. This helped to make our stay very relaxing. The food was fantastic and being veggie meant I didn't need to question whether...

Found this wonderful place by chance, returning from a walk up to Helm Cragg and popped in for "refreshments ". Warm, inviting staff (Emma and Cara) made our first and second visit in as many day so memorable. The food is out of this world, each course (Taster Menu) arriving was our favourite, until the next arrived, a real taste...

This was our second stay at the Lancrigg. Our first was with the previous owners. We were a bit anxious that the change in management would be a negative. However not so! The food has been wonderful we had the 8 course taster menu the first night stupendous. The parsnip and egg started was my favourite. Our room was great...

We spent Christmas at Lancrigg and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were attentive, the sitting room fire was always lit and our dogs were welcome to relax in front of it. The food was amazing, the rooms were charming and warm and the fact that excellent walks were right on the doorstep made our stay easy, stress-free and a lovely...

My husband and I spent New Year at Lancrigg, one of our favourite haunts in the Lake District. It's impossible not to fall in love with Lancrigg, the house has such a warm, relaxed, welcoming feel to it and with a real depth of history; the views are magnificent, truly unspoilt, you are looking out to the same landscape that...

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we taken care of superbly. Our room, The Easedale, was lovely, spacious and very warm! The food was quite simply extraordinary. As a vegetarian it is the normal to expect very mediocre fare but this was a stunning exception. The food was divine, the 8 course tasting menu was both...

I went with a group of friends to spend the night in the hotel around Christmas time. The hotel was warm, cosy and beautiful, with the fireplace constantly roaring in the lounge...a great place to return to for tea and cake after a day out walking. After reading some reviews about the hotel being quite cold we were pleasantly surprised...

20 minutes walk from the bustling village of Grasmere, Lancrigg exudes a sense of peace and this is enhanced by a total absence of traffic. There's a view out into a secluded lakeland valley from the hotel and a 1200 foot cragg, starting 100 yards from the doorstep. The hotel is in its own mature woodlang, beautifully positioned and undergoing...

We walked to the Lancrigg over the hills from Glenridding and back the next day. Nice touch to find water and glasses in the entrance hall. Friendly helpful staff, no problem that we'd arrived much earlier than planned. Food was very good. We had the set evening menu. Canapes, amuse bouche and starters excellent. Main courses perhaps a little small,...
