Just returned from a lovely stay at The Queens Head. We booked for overnight on the 30th December on the day itself as we wanted to get away on impulse after a hectic Christmas. We ended up staying a second night (New Years Eve) as another guest was taken ill on the 31st and we managed to extend our stay....

Just returned from a three-night stay at the Queens Head in Hawkshead. What a delightful old pub. The rooms were lovely, the beds comfortable, the housekeeping A1 the showers fantastic. The breakfasts scummy especially the smoked fish. The evening meals were excellent, I highly recommend the venison. The staff at this very busy pub are all first rate, helpful, considerate...

We went here for an evening meal. I had the pan fried sea bass which was delicious. The apple pie portion was huge as well. Lucky we decided to share the pudding at the end. The only disappointing part of our evening was when we went into book. They told us they were fully booked and could only squeeze us...

My husband and I have visited Hawkshead numerous times and stayed at the Queen's Head twice. The rooms are beautifully renovated in a contemporary country style and the food in the restaurant is good, fresh, and local. As far as the pub environment, it doesn't really exist; they have sacrificed most of the available space for dining and there remains...

Lovely quaint hotel with Elizabethan design and modern rooms and amenities. Child friendly and they have high chairs available for the young ones. Great selection of beers and spirits in the bar and friendly staff. The included breakfast was very good.

As one reviewer said this is one of the worse restaurants in the Lakes. I had one of the worse pizzas I had eaten last night from this pub. Truly awful. Had better things from Iceland. Service is terrible got the order mixed up. What's more bizarre is that is trying to give the impression it's a refined establishment. Joke!!!!!!!!

Had a lovely weekend here, the room was a separate building just round the corner from the pub, it was small but pleasantly decorated. Bit expensive but the deal we had incl local ale tasting and the meal. It was decent portions and well presented. The breakfast was lovely and nice to have local produce .

A lovely fire and friendly staff greeted us. We hadn't booked so we're delighted to find a table. Having looked over the menu 4 of us all decided on Sunday Roasts. Due to the size of the tables and no difference in price if you went for a "share" roast or individual we all decided on individual dinners. However we...
