This was a wonderful discovery , apparently the converted 17th century barn adjoining the house where Wordsworth lodged as a schoolboy . Particularly good value for a single occupancy , very comfortable with mod-cons in an antique setting , scrumptious breakfast , and a very helpful landlady (Rosemary , 21st century's Ann Tyson). Right in the middle of Hawkshead ,...

Had a lovely 2 night stay - very welcoming and comfortable place with a delicious breakfast. BnB was full of character and Hawkshead is a perfect location for a weekend break - a beautiful little village with unique shops and great pub. Highly recommended

Great location right in the heart of the lovely village of Hawkshead. A great opportunity to stay in a lovely old property, but with parking. So convenient. I stayed in Room 1 which was a good size, with a huge double bed and a recently refurnished bathroom. Rosemary was lovely, so friendly and helpful. A good solid breakfast. Excellent value...

The owner of this delightful B & B was so helpful to us on arrival even showing us where to park our car as it was a short walk away. Anyone with mobility problems may find this place too awkward....Our room was quaint and a tad gloomy as the cottages are all so close together which is part of the...

The village of Hawkshead is beutiful. We stayed in room 6. Very old bed and furniture would say of the 1980s period if not earlier. The bathroom floor was in real need of replacing. Ceiling height in bathrooom very low over bath so hence if you are tall you will hit your head on the ceiling. room smelt musty possibly...

Positives: - Excellent location, Hawkshead is a tiny, pretty, typical village and Ann Tyson's cottage is located at the heart of it - The landlady was really helpful and welcoming, she could crack a joke, basically: she rocks!! - The dining room in the main building was cosy and so warm, it was nice to have breakfast in there -...

We stayed here because we had trouble getting any other B&B in Hawkshead . It would seem to me the owners don"t have to try too hard to impress . The room was dingy , the bath was 4ft long , the bathroom ceiling was peeling off . The people in the above room had a dog which we could...

This is Truely a home from home. Staff could not be more friendly or helpful. Rooms are clean warm and comfy. Because they are in-line with the period of the house the may not suit those expecting modern minimalistic bedrooms but I found the rooms ideal. Breakfast was ample and beautifully cooked and Even Jack our Westie was given a...
