I was a solo walker doing the Dalesway i'd heard bad reviews about staying in Burneside so decided to stay in Kendal at this delightful B&B.The dalesway path comes into Burnside & Sheila from the B&B picked me up & dropped me back the next day which was great as my legs couldn't have walked into Kendal! The B&B is lovely, homely & Sheila & her husband make you feel very welcome in their home.My room was really nice with a great breakfast.I would thoroughly recommend Bridge House.

Great people, Shiela collected us from Burnside & her husband had a cup of coffee ready for us when we arrived. Really good room and a very comfy big bed, powerful shower and the best breakfast we had all week. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

Wow.Mistake not to stay here if you’re walking. So helpful,so friendly.Great place altogether. Can’t praise enough.Alan’s help as a physio was probably the only way I could have finished the Dalesway.Sheila was unbelievable. Can you give a 7 out of 5?

Shelia and her husband saved me from being washed away.Turned up late as a solo cyclist bedraggled and soaked to the skin. They went out of their way to get me sorted. Great house, rooms and lovely breakfast. You will feel at home here in no time.

We stayed for one night while walking the Dales Way and loved this place. Sheila was an excellent host - no problem picking us up and dropping us back in Burneside. The B&B location is close to town and there’s lots of good places to eat in Kendal (we had pizza at the Brewery Arts Centre). The room was lovely and breakfast was great - lots to choose from. As a walker herself Sheila knows just how to look after fellow walkers but this would also be a great place to stay for a few nights on holiday or on business.
