My seventh or eighth stay at Fox Hall and as good as ever. As a vegan for more than 40 years I have stayed at many vegetarian establishments in the UK but for vegans there is none better. A highlight is the evening meal, chosen from an extensive menu and carefully prepared by Sylvia. (Breakfasts are very enjoyable too.) Good...

I'm not sure whether to rate Fox Hill with 6 stars or none! If I were likely to visit the Lake District again soon, I'd give a poor review, to keep the crowds away! But, sadly, that's not likely, so I'll have to be honest: 6 or even 10 stars would be inadequate to describe the generous, friendly, and DELICIOUS...

My partner and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this fabulous little B&B. We stayed in the Lavender room with a gorgeous view. It's lovely and clean and comfortable. Sylvia and her family really made us feel at home. It's amazing to stay somewhere that it 100% vegan and the amazing food is all cooked to...

I visited Fox Hall with my boyfriend at the time for our 7 year anniversary after deciding on a whim to go and stay somewhere. I am vegetarian myself and so often struggle with finding food to suit my diet, and so this seemed just perfect. After arriving and asking for a room, we were given the key to a...

One of the best short breaks we have been on as a family. We were welcomed, fed and looked after. The rooms were lovely and clean. The food was good home cooking at its best. An ideal base to explore the local area and a fabulous place to relax.

Sylvia and her family make this the best B&B I have ever stayed in AND vegan too. I stayed 3 nights in the Snowdrop room, en-suite double, very comfortable with everything you could need. The menus are amazing, six or more choices each of starter, main course and dessert, all beautifully prepared, massive portions, fabulous breakfast, generous packed lunches. Within...

There are nothing like enough vegan establishments around. I don't know why we haven't been here before. We'll certainly be back. What a warm and friendly welcome. We had two delicious evening meals and two excellent breakfasts. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We loved watching the model railway in the garden. The place is hooching with wildlife and set...

My husband & I stayed at Fox Hall for 2 nights on our way up to Scotland. This was a vegan B&B & so a new experience for us as we are not vegans or vegetarians. Sylvia was very welcoming & we had booked an evening meal at Fox Hall, £15 for 3 courses. My husband particularly loved the food...

We stayed at Fox Hall Vegan B&B over the Bank Holiday weekend. We really loved the guest house, our cosy room, the delicious and plentiful breakfasts and three-course evening meals, local walks, and the warmth and friendliness of our hosts, Sylvia and Chris. It was our first visit, but it certainly won't be our last. Obviously a sentiment shared by...
