Regularly stay at this hotel on business and can't fault it. Very welcoming staff, good food and confortable clean rooms. Easy access to the motorway north and south. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in the area.

We visited yesterday for Santa's special lunch with WeardaleTravel coach trip. When we arrived we bought a lager shandy each at the bar which were 80% lemonade and 20% lager, having no taste at all. However the lunch was very good, we had vegetable soup for starter or melon. Main course was turkey or trout which wasn't much choice, we... More

I have stayed a couple of times at the hotel whilst on business, the location is excellent, short hop off the M6. Deluxe rooms are really nice, large windows, good size TV. Bathrooms are large, baths full size, power showers, well lit. Food is good, reasonably priced and served quite quickly. Staff are friendly and helpful. Certainly stay again.

I have been staying here on and off most weekends and quite often midweek over the last year for work. The staff have bent over backwards to look after me. The rooms are immaculately clean, the staff all seem to enjoy working there and the food is very nice. The bar has a cosy and friendly atmosphere. The location was... More

This hotel is a Best Western situated at Crooklands, 6 miles south of Kendal on the A65. This report is regarding the excellent food. Always ask for the larger newish dining room, the other rooms are a bit small. This hotel is owned by Charles but now managed by his daughter and son in law. The menu, food and wine list... More

Close to the M6 and the Lake District so good for those just travelling through the area as well as those touring the lakes. Generously-sized rooms with good quality furnishings and good lighting. Well-designed bathrooms. Prices are very fair for what's provided and the breakfasts are excellent, freshly cooked not going cold on a buffet. Overall very pleased that I... More

Stayed here for one night on the way to Scotland. We didn't eat here as we were a little too late.Room was nice enough and clean and free wifi if needed.Read a few of the negative comments but from our experience the one thing I would comment on was the staff were exceptionally friendly. I couldn't fault the service of the... More

Decent hotel, average selection of beers on draft, however an excellent selection of bottled beers, etc.. Popular place for group meals but we tend to avoid it now since they started insisting on meals being pre-booked. Did however go for a family birthday about 3 weeks ago and found the food to be at the same standard as usual. It's... More

Third or fourth time we've been here and it's just as good as last time. Food, staff, room, service all excellent and it's very popular so there's always a great atmosphere. Close to all the attractions and amenities of the Lake District and the autumn colours were fantastic. Will definitely be back again !!

Night stop to break our journey from Scotland to home. We stayed in a deluxe room which was spotless and comfortable. Large bathroom with fluffy towels. Evening meal was delicious with plenty of choice. Breakfast was very good and served quickly Will definitely stay again when we visit Scotland next Spring.
