Great B&B, especially for walkers. Room was really clean, warm and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Breakfast was great! Couldn’t fault it at all, a great stay and really good value for money.

Such a lovely guest house, hosted by Christine and Richard who couldn’t do enough for you. With new restrictions in place we felt safe and reassured that all measures had been taken to avoid contact with other guests and it was very clean with sanitiser available throughout the house. We had the suite on the top floor which over looked some fabulous views of Cat Bells and other fells. Breakfast was brought to your room in a lovely wooden breakfast box, you chose your breakfast menu using an app and there was plenty of choice. The food was lovely and plentiful portions. We ordered a pack lunch for £6 which included 4 sandwiches each, crisps, bottle of water, fruit, home made flap jack and a packet of crisps, very good value for money. The suite was lovely and had a double bedroom a separate sitting room and a separate bathroom with a shower, everything was clean to a good standard. We had a welcome box which included tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, a bottle of hand sanitiser and a pack of tissues which came with a lovely note to welcome you ... my only other suggestion for the box was a pack of disinfectant wipes but Christine said she had got these arranged, as a precaution I took my own wipes. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others, it’s in the centre of Keswick with beautiful restaurants (Morrils is worth a visit fab food). A truly enjoyable stay and a safe one at that. Thank you Christine and Richard we hope to be back this year 😃🤞

We were looking for accomodation near the town centre and with on site parking The Ferndene met these requirements and we stayed for two nights. We received an excellent welcome and assistance from the owners. Our room was in the annexe and although it and the shower area were a little cramped it was very pleasant. The breakfasts provided a good choice and a homely atmosphere. We would stay here again if in Keswick

To put this in to context pre pandemic we had 4or 5 holidays abroad and 5or6 weekend breaks a year. We also review most properties on trip advisor with well over 90% positive reviews. This can be verified by both Bookings.com and Trip advisor. We were welcomed by the owner at the front door of the house with you cannot come through the house due to covid restrictions you must come round the back. We were then lectured in the back carpark of all the rules and regulations that must be adhered to during our stay. As the back to this was he had sent us an email regarding these rules. These rules also involved breakfast in a basket in our rooms. Too all 4 in our group we did not fi nd this acceptable as we would have to eat our breakfast on our bed. The most hygienic way to start a day.
The rooms are small and if you have wash your hands in sink in the middle of the bedroom if you use the the toilet. Also the cleanliness of the room was not that great. Photos will be attached below.
The owner liked to quote rules and regulations.
The owners should at there own inadequate position of the very important fire evacuation sign.
The sign is on the room door which if you hang your coats on these hooks the fire evacuation policy is obscured.
Not a great stay.

Booked here fairly last minute and because it was one of the cheapest, so wasn't expecting anything remarkable. However, we were greatly surprised, as the place is immaculate and hosts extremely welcoming.
We stayed in the annex building, where Christine advised that (due to Covid restrictions) breakfast would be delivered to our room, in a box. Again, we were a little dubious but it was one of the best breakfasts we've ever had! Excellent choice on the menu and you order via an app, which is easy to use. They also offer packed lunches, if you're out for the day.
The room itself was very clean, modern, light and airy, with plenty of tea/coffee making facilities.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful and would highly recommend a stay here.

We spent four nights at the Ferndene and cannot recommend it highly enough. The owners Richard and Christine were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and the room was spotless and comfortable. We felt that the owners had taken appropriate measures in light of covid in order to maintain the safety of the guests, including keeping socially distanced, having hand sanitisers all around and delivering breakfast to our room rather than having it in the dining area. Highly recommended

My husband and I stayed at Ferndene Guest House for 2 night on 7/8 August and it was amazing!!!!

Location was brilliant, 2/3 mins walk from the town centre, in a peaceful street.

The guest house itself was lovely - very clean, the room and the views were amazing and the breakfast was very nice. Richard and Christine did such a good job to remain personable and friendly despite the current C-19 restrictions, their thorough guidance before and during the stay made my husband and I feel very secure and safe.

We stayed in room 1 (The Suite) and loved it! Amazing room, with wonderful views. The 'breakfast in a box' was a great idea and exceeded our expectations; good quality food, presented in a nice manner and tasted so good!

Overall a wonderful stay, in a lovely guest house. I can't recommend The Ferndene Guest house enough.

Just got back from a lovely stay at Ferndene. The owners of this guest house were very friendly while giving us our own space. Breakfast had lots of options and no complaints at all with any we had. The whole stay was very safe and completely contactless and secure while still having personal touches. Very impressed. Will come again!

We were in Room 8 in the Annexe and it was lovely and clean & quite spacious. Hospitality tray was very generous in fact the best I've seen with a great selection of everything you require. The hosts were extremely welcoming and gave great advice on visitng the Keswick area & local shops, bars etc.
The Guesthouse is in a great location only a quick 10 min walk to the centre of the market place/town. Parking is available upon request, breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice :-)

We just had a 2 night stay, our first time in Keswick.

Ferndene House is in a great location five minutes walk from the town centre. It’s a very comfortable and clean B&B, Richard and Christine are very hospitable and welcoming.
We had a lovely spacious room with plenty of storage, an extensive hospitality tray and large fluffy towels. The bed was a bit too soft for us (personal taste) and the shower wasn’t particularly powerful.
Breakfast on both mornings was excellent, you order via an app by 8pm the night before and it’s served between 8.30 & 9am.
The parking behind the B&B is pre-bookable and is quite tight, especially if you have a larger vehicle. It’s a ‘one behind the other’ system, which is fine if you’re not planning to use your car but if your plans change during the day, it’s possible you won’t be able to get your car out from its space. There is on street parking opposite the front of the property but of course space isn’t guaranteed.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
