The lady was very pleasant she took over the B&B this year she made us very welcome. The negative bits was it is vegetarian breakfast which was not mentioned when we booked it through booking.com so-be aware! The breakfast was beautifully cooked every day. Our rooms were not cleaned everyday only every other day! As we had paid £10 per night for our dog we thought that was expensive as the room was not cleaned,! We thought there was a lot of corner cutting! The table for breakfast was not laid so you had to basically lay your own table. I would expect cups and saucers and cutlery to be put out. The position of the guest house is great getting to the north lakes. It is on a busy road so getting out can be difficult .

Lane Head Farm is a great place to stay in the Lake District! Surachi and her family run a great operation and my stay was relaxing and a welcome balm to my travel weary soul. I stayed here for almost a week at the end of an eight week travel stint and loved it. Location wise I found it quite “central” to everything in the Lake District being about 10 minutes from Keswick and an hour or so to Lake buttermere, coniston, and Derwent. Driving was super easy and there’s good parking at lane head. Breakfast was amazing and Surachi cooks it all herself. It was good for me to have Surachi around in the mornings for quick chats and the other guests eating together. Though the hot breakfast options are all vegetarian the food is plentiful and very tasty. I definitely recommend the mushrooms in the English breakfast. I stayed in room 7 and the bed was comfortable and the room spacious and well appointed. I did manage to somehow turn off the heaters in the room and bathroom but the bedding was warm enough that the heaters weren’t needed.…

Lovely friendly family run guest house in a perfect location to explore surrounding fells and villages. Hosts are extremely welcoming and room was spacious and clean. Several gorgeous pubs are a very short drive away for evening meals.

Very Comfortable accommodation. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our 5 night stay very much. Lane End B & B. was the perfect location for us to do our memory lane trip to the Western Lakes and the beautiful Ullswater. We were primed for the day with cereal, fresh fruit, juice tea/coffee followed by a piping hot lovely cooked breakfast and as much toast as you wanted. Thank you Suruchi, you are the perfect host. Very Best Wishes Ann & Howard, Abergele xx

We had a very warm welcome from Surushi, nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and spacious with nice views. Lived up to the claim of being dog friendly - my Springer spaniel had a great time, especially at breakfast!

Not much variety for breakfast. Tea, coffee , body wash and shampoo was not replenished during 5 night stay. Very remote location off a very busy road. A room we were offered smelt musky and damp , the owner did offer to have the carpets shampooed by the cleaner , I refused this option Room 2

Hi Paul, Firstly you booked a 6-night stay and as agreed while booking you had to do a room change on the 6th day to another room. Room 2 was shown and you thought it smelt musky hence I offered a deep clean which you declined and wanted a refund for the last day by threatening me with a bad review which is outrageous, you also had all your belongings packed in the car so no matter what I offered was not good. I then also offered you room 7 plus a free night stay in future and you said you have seen and done everything and decided to go home. so offering 2 different rooms plus a free return I think I have offered sufficient solutions. Regarding breakfast, You choose the full English all 5 days but there was also masala omelette, hot potato peas toastie plus freshly made bread, and Greek yoghurt with fruits. Your partner had a varied breakfast from overnight oats and different egg preparations. How is the location remote? I am only 8 miles from Keswick i.e. 6 minutes drive. The busy road you describe is A66 so just have to slow down for the turning on to the long driveway. You did have access to Google Maps prior to booking? BNB location is ideal for easy assess with parking on the grounds. Tea coffee extra is all in the dining room to help yourself along with fresh milk in the bar fridge. Just a polite note If you have decided to cut your trip short please do not look for excuses for a refund and especially threaten the owner with a bad review as it says more about you as a human being. My reviews speak for themselves. Regards Suruchi

What a lovely host Suruchi is so friendly and accommodating adding her special touches at breakfast with homemade bread and cakes The quest house is in a beautiful peaceful location central for Ullswater and Keswick Room 3 was very clean and spacious with a good shower and four poster bed which was at the front of the house facing onto the garden with good views of the cows and sheep and even saw a hare on the drive

As my wife said when we left, 'Well, that's the first time I have hugged a B&B owner'... We stayed here with my wife's parents, and the family dogs. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always some cake on offer lol. As mentioned in a previous review the breakfast menu is vegetarian, which I knew before going and was a little indifferent about due to being predominantly a meat eater myself, well I have to say that the Masala Omelettes were just brilliant, not to mention Suruchi's home made bread. The rooms were clean and spacious with tea and coffee facilities, a comfy bed and soft towels. Although this is close to the A66 we couldn't hear it from the room. The views are stunning from the garden (our room faced the car park so unable to comment on the views from other rooms). It's just a short drive to Keswick where you can get an evening meal at one of the many pubs and restaurants, there is also the Co-op or Booths if you want to self cater. Speaking to Suruchi she has only taken the B&B over recently, we think that she is doing a great job and we will definitely be booking again. We feel like we left there having gained a new friend. Thanks again Suruchi, and will see you again soon, Keith, Tori, Gill, John and the dogs Margaret, Chester is Daisy. …
