Visited the Heights hotel for the 5th time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had a fantastic time as always. It is in a beautiful location surrounded by fields, with a lovely garden and some very scenic walks nearby. The home-cooked vegan food is amazing with very generous portions, and the vegetable casserole is the best we have ever had!...

It's a delight full hotel, run by a lovely & attentive couple offering vegan and vegetarian food and drink. As a meat eater the food is wonderful and freshly prepared and cooked - a must for a visit to Keswick. Delightfully located (close to the fells and Keswick) surrounded by feilds full of pigs, sheep, donkeys and fell ponies.... Just...

Lovely view from our room of the surrounding peaks and countryside, great walks easily accessible from The front door and Keswick not too far away. Food is amazing although quite oily. Catered to us vegans wonderfully and the bar is lovely and cosy after a day out walking in the rain! Rooms are basic but nice, couldn't of asked for...

The only reason we stayed here was that our friends were camping on the site next door and they always go in the Crag bar. We were fully aware that it was a vegan hotel and prepared to put up with that for breakfast but the accommodation itself is so dated it's like staying at your elderly relatives. The room...

The welcome and the attention that Barry and Van bestow on their guests is incredible. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they genuinely care about the service they give. If you like a relaxed atmosphere, home-from-home then the Heights is highly recommended. Please, please don't be put off by the 'hot and cold buffet' for breakfast - it...

These 2 Aussies drove from London to Edinburgh and stopped here on the way. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised. We were the only guests, due to a recent renovation, so our hosts, Barry & Van, put us in the best room in the house....the views were incredible. This is a Vegetarian place, but once Van discovered I...

Went on a on long walk and was hoping to come across a pub/toilet. We came across 'The Heights Hotel' which sadly was closed. However the owners kindly invited us in to use their toilet, even though they were in the middle of renovation. Very kind and very much appreciated, we will be back when you re-open on the 18th...

Yet again another great 4 nights with Barry, Van & Daimon, as ever we were made welcome and made to feel welcome throughout our stay. Food, hospitality and bar were first class and we love coming here even though we are not Vegetarians. I'm sure we will be returning. The Height is very handy for getting around The Lake District...
