Stayed for one night before or week in a cottage Lovely stay couldnt find my booking but was sorted out quickly by a friendly member of staff . Had eve meal which was excellently cooked and a good price. The breakfast was also very nice and plenty of choice We drank in here few times too and staff were always friendly and cheerful Also the room was spacious and very comfortable
I stayed at the King’s Arms whilst walking the Cumbria Way. The staff were excellent and I was happy with the room. It was perfect for a single traveller, and breakfast was excellent. The only criticism was the room was at the front of hotel and it was market day next morning. They start early be warned! I now know why I had ear plugs in the room, but I wasn’t forewarned. Having said that I would still highly recommend.
We stayed for 2 nights in room 6 a lovely room on the top floor of the hotel. The stairs up to the top floor are narrow and steep. The hotel is located in the centre of town so no parking is available. A discounted parking was available via the hotel in the public car park which was charged at £10 per day. We did have to wait for a very long time for a space as we arrived during the Easter break and Keswick was mobbed. Dinner at the hotel was ok, I ordered pie which was huge portion, my husband ordered salmon which was a tiny portion. Breakfast was good however the choice of continental breakfast was quite limited. It is worth mentioning that the pub across the road plays live music which is very, very loud and only stops at midnight (we did wonder why the hotel left earplugs in our bathroom!!).…
We turned up early, but they said no problem, very happy with the service we received, meal was delicious, had the steak, which was done perfectly, the staff were very pleasant and served us with a smile, the only problem was that on leaving the carpet by the door to go out was wet and I slipped on it, they were very helpful and got me back to my feet, thankfully no after effects,
We stayed for just one night and were very happy with our choice. The room was clean and well furnished with a six foot bed and the bathroom was beautifully kitted out, although the shower was a bit unpredictable. All the staff were pleasant, the breakfast was very good and the hotel is as central to the town as it is possible to get. Overall decent value for money and we would stay again.
