Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is so beautiful and run by the friendliest people. Breakfast is amazing and the hosts have terrific suggestions for how to spend your time. The location can’t be beat! I promise you- they’ve thought of everything you could possibly need and it’s written for you in the guest book in your room. Read the book!! If you think you’re missing something or need something, I promise you, it’s in the book! This is a high quality, top notch place. Don’t miss it! I hope we can come back and stay longer. Three nights wasn’t enough! Highly recommend!!

We have just arrived home after a wonderful stay at Badgers Wood.. The guest house is spotlessly clean, we stayed in the king size room which was really comfortable with beautiful views over the fells and two minutes walk into the centre of Keswick with an abundance of shops restaurants and pubs.. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices and really set you up for the day. Finally we would just like to say thank you to the hosts Ann and Andrew who made you feel so welcome taking time to chat and make you feel at home with plenty of knowledge about anything you wanted to know.. Thank you again and hope to stay again in the future.

Our stay was great! The rooms had everything we needed from snacks and a kettle to trays on which to place muddy shoes. Breakfast in the morning was perfect - made to order with plenty of options. We were in great proximity to restaurants, grocery stores, and all of the amazing trails Keswick offers. Highly recommend!

This is a B&B where every detail has been well thought out. We were impressed from the moment we walked up to the front door. But, beyond all of the details that make this house stand out, the reason I would recommend it to anyone I like is the hosts. Be sure to ask them for advice, it will surely improve and expand your journey in Keswick. As a side note, I highly recommend the scenic drive around the lake. Also, be sure to take a walk away from the town centre to the impressive sports park across the river from the Badger's Wood. -Dave

Friendly and welcoming, comfortable rooms with lovely extra touches. Breakfasts were great - often difficult to get going out and about as chatting to hosts was so enjoyable! Extremely well located for Keswick town and bus station. Really recommend. Hope we are able to come and stay again soon.

Our experience at Badgers Wood was excellent. We were 2 couples traveling together - both of our rooms were very nice, with comfortable beds, and exceptionally clean. Andrew and Ann were extremely personable and helpful. They provided extensive amounts of information regarding hiking, local shops, and dining. They have an extensive set of choices for breakfast, between the four of us we had about every item - all were excellent. We all highly recommend staying here.

This was my 7th stay at Badgers Wood. Quite simply the best B&B I've ever stayed at. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and an excellent breakfast. But what makes it special above all else are the hosts Anne and Andrew. They really care about people and have added so many nice touches such as the use of a fridge providing fresh milk, real coffee in cafetieres and fans for the hot Cumbrian weather! It was great to be able to sit outside in the front garden with a cool beer chilled in the fridge before going out in the evening.

My mother and I were traveling from the US, and stayed here for 4 nights in early June. We would gladly stay again. Annie and Andrew put a ton of care into every aspect of your stay, from the room amenities, to the many breakfast options (vegetarian friendly), to happily sharing their wealth of knowledge about sights, hiking, and restaurants in the area. There's an extensive collection of guidebooks in the foyer for guest use. I can’t speak for the other rooms, but our room had a big bay window with outstanding views of the surrounding fells. We loved coming back from a long day of hiking and sightseeing to sit by this window and just admire the scenery. The B&B is in a very central (yet quiet) part of town, a 1-minute walk to the town center with all of its shops and restaurants, and a 1-minute walk to the lovely Fitz Park and the River Greta. I could’ve easily stayed another week.

My father and I made a stop in Keswick on a trip through the UK and considered it one of the best, due in part to our great experience at Badgers Wood. The rooms are great: beds comfortable, pretty bay window out the front, and all kinds of little amenities in the bathroom. What really makes this B&B is the ownership: Andrew and Anne are wonderful people and over nearly two decades of operation, they’ve seen almost everything so naturally they’re prepared for almost anything. They know the area quite well and we’re able to suggest a few different hikes with maps and guides to go along. Great little stop along the way and I would recommend Badgers Wood to anyone.

The moment we arrived we knew we were going to be well looked after. Andrew welcomed us and took us to our rooms, explained the house rules and recommendations of places to eat in Keswick during our stay. The rooms are spotless, lots of added extras to make our stay “home from home” ; a fridge in the hall provides fresh milk and cold bottled water plus room to cool your own Prosecco/ white wine. Anne cooks the breakfast, which is absolutely delicious and plentiful. After breakfast service Anne joins the diners to offer her wealth of information to ensure that we were “going in the right direction “ and sold us discount tickets for the launch around Derwentwater. Badgers Wood is the perfect base to explore Keswick with plenty of parking , only a stones throw from the town but so quiet with lovely views. Anne and Andrew are the perfect hosts, nothing was to much trouble. Thank You 🙏
