We returned for our tenth stay at Thornthwaite Grange to be greeted by Clive and Sue who warmly welcomed us into their lovely home. Clive helped with our luggage whilst Sue served us a much needed pot of tea in our room. We have stayed in three of the double rooms over the last few years and our favourite is...

We stayed for 3 nights (21-23 Sept). Our room was Hay Stacks a beautiful, large room at the front of the house with Skidaw as a view. The bathroom was also of generous size. Everything was right from the beginning. We were welcomed by Clive and Sue with a pot of tea. Clive explained the set-up and suggested places for...

Thanks very much for this complimentary review. It was a pleasure to welcome you both into our home. You are right. It is Haystacks and Catbells which enjoy the views of the Skiddaw mountain range and beyond. Really odd day today - weather-wise. Dull and rainy here in Thornthwaite, but across the valley Clough Head is bathed in the afternoon...

We stayed for a delightful weekend in this dog friendly accomodation. It had everything we needed, the tastiest breakfast ever, and the Landlord was fantastic with his knowledge of the area, he was spot on with where to park for free,Cool places to visit and advise on closed roads and alternative routes.

Myself, my wife and our 15 year old son have just returned from Thornthwaite Grange, following a 3 night stay in the Whinlatter Suite. Thornthwaite Grange is just outside of Keswick, in a peaceful location, but only a short distance to pubs, restaurants and shops. The views from the garden are stunning, and our room was spacious, clean, and had...

We've stayed on a number of occasions now with Clive and Sue, and each time has been perfect. I've been remiss about leaving a TripAdvisor review only because I couldn't find Thornthwaite Grange in the listings. At last I've been able to put that right and would heartily recommend this to anybody in the area. Believe me Sue & Clive...

We stayed for two nights in the double room, "Catbells" which is a spacious room and has lovely views over the fells. This B&B is a great location for the many walks in the Lakes District. Sue and Clive are knowledgeable and helpful about the area. We sat in the beautiful and peaceful garden one sunny afternoon with friends who...

Thanks for the nice comments. Although perhaps not quite up to Gold Coast standards, we've had a spell of wonderful weather here in the Lakes - actually went twelve days without a drop of rain. We do hope that you will stay with us again, should you make another visit to the "Old Country". Kind regards to you both. Clive...

Clive and Sue offer warm hospitality, splendid accommodation and a great breakfast. Their local knowledge is excellent - they are both keen outdoor enthusiasts and they are familiar with most of the Lake District fells. How they keep the gardens so immaculate as well, I've no idea! Good parking too. Clive comes from an artistic family and the variety of...

We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Sue and I do have a pretty good knowledge of the local fells, both from walking, and as some-what washed-up runners. When it comes to the running, I think it's fair to say that we both have great futures behind us ! Our fell walking exploits don't begin to rival...

Glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to meet you. Fantastic day today, weather-wise. Unbroken sunshine since 8.00am, now (late afternoon) the snow-capped mountains opposite look as though they are being floodlit. We do hope you will stay with us again in the very near future.
