We have just returned from a week's stay at Briery House between December 28th and January 4th. There were 4 couples in our group.
Our check in was quick - and early. We arrived before 3pm and the keys to the house were ready and waiting. Good start.
Upon entry, the living room/lounge was 'old' but comfortable enough, with 3 x 3 seater settees and a TV in the corner. Adjacent was the dining room with a large long wooden table and 10 chairs. Excellent for our needs.
The kitchen is smallish, but is VERY well stocked with everything you could need for a week's stay.
There was also a downstairs shower room, and a separate WC; both adequate.
There are 4 bedrooms: a master with a kingsize bed 9plus bunk beds), a double bedded room, a twin bedded room, and the fourth room has bunk beds (ideal really only for kids I'd say) . We had no complaints from our party, everybody slept well on the comfortable beds.
The main bathroom with bath/shower and WC was also on this floor. Again perfectly fine.
The house also has free wi-fi which was a real bonus, and plenty of car parking outside.
Low Briery is in a great position, a 15 minute walk into Keswick, but currently the old railway track route (avoiding the roads) is closed for repair work and not due for completion until later in 2020. A bit of a shame for us as we had a dog with us - but nothing we could do about it.
Summary : this was my 3rd visit to Low Briery and I have no doubt I will return again in the near future either with friends or with family. I would recommend it to anybody looking for good accommodation in a good location.

This was our second time at Low Briery and it was as great as we remembered.
We stayed in riverside cottage 3 (our fave and will always try and book this first) the cottage is perfect for a holiday near Keswick. First of all I just want to say a thank you for doing the patios at the back overlooking the river. It meant that we could let the dogs go to the toilet safety without having to get booted up to walk round the campsite and I can imagine in the summer this will a great place to spend a afternoon with a vino! Also keep a close eye on the river as you may see a otter or two :)
The cottage itself just as we remember lovely, cosy and welcoming. the living room was big enough for 4 people and the 2 dogs to play. The kitchen/diner is great although it may look small the kitchn has everything you need to make a fab family meal and the table is a good size. the bedrooms are a great size we were able to get away all of our clothes for the week and still have room for a dog bed the only thing I would say is that maybe some of the furniture could do with a update but I know you guys are doing renovations etc on the site and is nowhere near a deal breaker. The porch was damp and did fill with condensation with items in there getting wet but we just popped coats on the end of the bannister et.
The site is fab peaceful and quiet and waking up to the sound of the river is bliss.
The railway walk is brill nice and level for beginner walkers like ourselves with plenty of places to stop and rest. There is plenty of photo opportunities and if heading to Threlkeld there is a ice cream van which is from April to the end of Oct. Everyone is so friendly and if you have dogs people love to talk doggos. You may even see some deer!
Other family members are here for the last part of October and we are all booking again as a family to come back! CANT WAIT TO EXCITED :)

Fantastic 3 night break in one of camping pods. I was staying solo with my dog, so the pod was perfect for our needs.
The pod was spotless with utensils, cutlery and crockery provided. You must bring bedding and towels.
The pod has a small decking area, access to its own BBQ and outside lighting.
The holiday park is a 25 minute walk into Keswick along the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Path, the walk it’s a real pleasure!

We have just came back from spending the week in the new luxury lodges! We usually stay in the pods at low briery because it’s always clean and the location is ideal but we thought we would upgrade as we wanted a bit more room for the dog.
We stayed in the Blencathra lodge and it was amazing! Absolutely immaculate and had everything we needed. The weather has been on our side also so spent our nights sitting on the balcony over looking the river!
Thanks again so much for another wonderful stay Low Briery!

We stayed in a two bedroom caravan. It was spotlessly clean and furnished nicely. We were impressed with how well the kitchen area was stocked with everything we needed to cook and prepare drinks. We took our own towels for the bathroom etc, as requested on the website, but a tea towel, oven gloves, kitchen roll and washing up liquid were provided, which we didn’t really expect. A bath mat was supplied in the shower room. Centrally heated, it was timed to come on at various times throughout the day and night, which was quite welcome, despite it being summer, as it could be quite cool in the mornings. The mattress on our bed was very firm, which is a personal preference. A little too hard for me, especially for tired muscles after a day’s walking, but my husband found it okay.
The whole site is beautifully maintained, and very peaceful, which suited our needs. The scenery is breathtaking, and we never tire of it. It is situated by the River Greta. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We were allowed to park in the main car park from 9 am on our arrival day and leave it till check in time at 4pm as we wanted to make the most of the day in Keswick. Just had to let the staff in Reception know. Upon our arrival we were told our caravan was ready so we unpacked first before our walk, which was very helpful.
A pleasant thirty minute walk along the railway path into Keswick town centre. If driving there is preferred, there are two hour parking spaces available on Station Road by Fitz Park (8am -6pm). There are parking attendants there quite often throughout the day. Drivers need to get a free parking clock, which the attendants usually have to hand out if they are there, and we believe that some shops have some available.
We were there for four nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We will book again. The website is very good, and emails with enquiries are answered promptly.

We stayed in a static caravan for our 1st post lockdown mini break. The caravan was exactly as it looked in the pictures on the website - pristine! Everything was brand new and immaculate and simply could not be faulted, it exceeded our expectations.
The location was perfect for us with direct access to the Keswick Railway Walking Trail which provides an easy 20-25 minute traffic free walk into Keswick, or a longer but very picturesque stroll to the village of Threlkeld. There is currently an absence of leisure facilities on site which was fine for us, although the planned opening of a Wellness Centre will be a welcome addition.
We will not hesitate in staying here again for future visits to the northern Lakes

Myself and family stayed in 'Great Gable' over the Christmas period - and we were not disappointed! The lodge is furnished beautifully, has river views (lovely to sit out and listen to the water at night), has plenty of space for large families and is well equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable holiday - like a home from home. It is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing time away. The location is great for exploring what the lake district has to offer, but is also is very quiet with very easy access to a short but scenic pathway into Keswick - the best of both worlds. Hope to visit again in the near future.

We stayed in Caravan Skiddaw No 17 which is situated on high ground overlooking the site which provides great views below of the river flowing alongside the site. The caravan was spotless throughout and well equipped for self catering. The bathroom was spacious with the shower being hot and powerful.....always a necessity. The only downside was the steps leading up to the caravan are steep and can be a bit tricky in the dark or when wet after raining, there are a couple of low level lights but it would be safer to carry a torch or use your phone for extra light. The site is only a 15 min walk into Keswick along the newly laid picturesque path that crosses the river in several places, it used to be the old railway line from Threkeld to Keswick. Keswick itself is a beautiful town full of all sorts of shops, cafes with plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from We would definitely return to Low Briery again as it is a well managed site but probably stay in one of the timber lodges next time as they look stunning.

We stayed here for 4 nights in Aspen Lodge. The lodge was just right for our stay with a lovely view of the river. It was well equipped with everything you could need. The only thing I would perhaps say is that the wifi is intermittent, and you can't get a mobile phone signal, so certainly a good place to get away from it all! Keswick and Derwent water are about a 40 minute hilly walk so it's better with transport if you can't walk that distance comfortably. Note, that although the site allows dogs there didn't appear to be anywhere to exercise them off lead. The place is very easy to find and well sign posted.

We stayed in a riverside cabin twice this year and both times the wrather in the day was very good, and we didn't have any problems at all with midges but I would take a candle or spray for outside if its really hot good luck
Hello!
We do not have a completion date as of yet for the spa. Works are still on hold since the lockdown. Once we know more, we will update our website with the relevant information.
Many thanks!
There is a bus stop approximately 10 min walk away
You would need the riverside cottages or one of the luxury lodges that are there
Hello! The coin meter controls the power for the heating, all the outlets and the hot water. You can easily only use £2 per day for basic necessities including heating, but if you like a long hot shower in the mornings then it may be £1 or £2 more.
