A fantastic little B&B in the heart of Keswick - absolutely spotlessly clean , modern and with lots of lovely additional touches such as Prosecco on arrival and homemade cake - friendly owners and an absolutely superb breakfast- cannot give this place enough compliments , if your looking for somewhere to stay definitely try here , you won’t be disappointed
My wife and I travelled from Leicester to Keswick by car and we stayed for 4 days at this beautifully, clean, quiet and accessible bed & breakfast. Becky and Simon, the owners are very professional, friendly, knowledgable and helpful and made our stay very comfortable and pleasant. We are both strict vegetarians and they asked in advance what we'd like and adjusted their breakfast menu for us. Our climb to Mount Skiddaw was greately facilitated through Simon's detailed guidance. Their B&B is at a comfortable walking distance from the main town shopping centre, bus station and the Lake side boating, restaurants and so on. No hesitation in recommending it!
What a fantastic find, a real superb B&B in a great location within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Keswick. We stayed in room 2 which is the super king, it was spotlessly clean and so comfortable, lovely pillows and mattress . Breakfast was amazing, great choice with quality products. Fantastic hosts and some nice little extra touches, lemon drizzle cake and Prosecco on arrival. We will certainly be back.
Great location, welcoming hosts and really good breakfast with clean comfortable room. What more is required? A very short walk to town centre with On-street car parking available outside guesthouse..
Cannot rate this B&B highly enough. We usually stay in hotels, and I was dubious about staying in a B&B, but I'm so so glad I stumbled upon Oakthwaite House. Firstly the rooms - immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. All the little touches are in the room (hair dryer, teas/coffees/biscuits, and some basic toiletries), as well as the offer of prosecco and cake on arrival. The top floor room we stayed in wasn't huge but that's typical of this type of house in the lakes (bigger rooms are available, but as we booked late they were all taken - and I'm not surprised!) As a bonus our room had a mountain view. The breakfast - amazing. A large selection of items to choose from, and tastes absolutely wonderful. Most definitely worth getting up for! Simon and Rebecca the owners are absolutely lovely and can't do enough for their guests. They take a genuine interest in what you're going to be doing/where you're going to eat etc. and are able to give recommendations if required. They are also super helpful and offer to print maps/provide leaflets. It felt more like going to visit someone you knew, which really put me at ease. The property is decorated as tastefully as the rooms, and is to the same immaculately clean standard. There are trays in the hallway to leave muddy boots which is brilliant as you don't have to take them to your room! (Although there are also trays in the rooms). Parking is on street, and there are lots of streets around the B&B if you cannot get directly in front of the property (although I believe there was disabled parking outside the property). The B&B is a five minute walk from town, and a lovely park. As a side note, Simon and Rebecca have really worked hard to ensure the property is covid-19 safe. Sanitising stations on each landing/in the dining room; split breakfast sittings; updated housekeeping routine; and easy check in and out. We felt very safe here. My partner and I have already decided that we'd like to go back and stay at Oakthwaite House! Simon and Rebecca, if you read this - a genuine thank you. You definitely contributed to making Seb's 30th so enjoyable.…
