My octogenarian parents stayed and were very impressed - and that isn’t easy. Great food, very welcoming staff catering for particular needs and comfy beds -very important. Chris the chef is excellent. Thank you, I’m sure they will be back.

Lovely chatty staff of the sort you don't get in tourist trap pubs. Big wood fire for when it's cold. Small selection of beers but local stuff on offer. Very dog friendly, with dog biscuits available for four legged patrons.

Busy Sunday evening made space for us . The Lamb shank was delicious. Newly taken over by fresh landlords wish the the best. If the food remains as good should do very well. Well situated just of the A66 at Penruddock

Delicious hearty British food (the fish and chips are divine), a selection of very tasty ales and gins, friendly staff and environment, and the accommodation is cosy, warm and snug too. A great country pub for couples, hikers and families.
