We recently had a meal at the Strickland Arms for a party of 16. The meal was very nice, nothing to complain about at all. We had pre-ordered the meal by email as we were such a large party and the proprietors were very obliging when members wanted to change their selection at the last minute. The meal itself was...

Warm and friendly atmosphere, excellent menu for veggies and meat eaters, good range of ales. Food was lovely as was the log fire! Our big, friendly dog was welcomed too 😊 Highly recommended, we'll visit again.

We booked in as a party of 7 and received a warm welcome on arrival. The beer/cider selection was reasonable and the menu extensive. The food was enjoyable, reasonably priced and in good portions (none of us had room for pudding). The one downside was the wait for the food which was around 50 minutes. Whilst we appreciate it was...

The Strickland Arms, Penrith, UK was such a relaxing place to stay while visiting the Lakes area of UK. The staff was welcoming - more like family than an inn. The food in the pub was excellent. Penny is a wonderful chef. We enjoyed all of their staff.

I was looking for a place to stay for one night while going south last week. I was frankly horrified at some of the prices quoted for Lake District resorts. I know about supply and demand, but they were ridiculous. Anyway. I found the Strickland Arms, and I'm so glad I did. A quiet location, comfortable room, two good meals,...

We stayed at the Strickland Arms in June 2016 on our way to Northumberland with the BritStop scheme. Very nice evening meal. Lovely waitress and waiter. Superb breakfast and lovely chat with Anton who showed us around his yurts. Splendid workmanship!. Will certainly visit again . LesC

We stayed here last night - BRILLIANT. We were visiting this part of the world for wedding nearby and stayed for one night. My wife, daughter and I had a cracking meal in the bar. A table had been reserved for us in the dining room but we decided to eat in the bar (same menu). The rump steak was...

We visited as a family, all very hungry, childs meal was a burger, not served in burger bun but one of those part baked rolls you heat up, dry no cheese or anything, my vodka inspired pasta was rubbish, water settled at the bottom of the dish which is obviously a big no no. My husbands lasagne wasnt served with...

We stopped for a night stay en route from Scotland and loved this place. We were a family of 4 plus dog and we're made to feel very welcome by the friendly hosts. The log yurt was really spacious and comfortable with a double bed and two sets of bunk beds. The shower was fantastic, the overall accommodation modern, immaculate...
