Stayed overnight on the way home on a very cold November day. The room was lovely and warm as were the public rooms of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Would certainly recommend and revisit.

Excellent location, warm welcome, comfortable, well-appointed room, splendid breakfast - what more could you ask for? Before leaving, make sure you enjoy a walk around the estate taking in the beautiful wooded banks of the River Eden.

Afternoon tea! Rather disappointing, all cakes and scones were bought in, sandwiches were the saving grace, nice and fresh with a variety of fillings. Given afternoon tea is now so popular, would have expected much better!

I had a lovely stay at Edenhall. The staff were very welcoming and caring. I arrived late (11pm) and was offered some sandwiches if I was hungry. The rooms are spacious and quiet and the scenery around the hotel fantastic. It's a great base if you are an outdoorsy person.

Excellent time staying here. Nice little hotel. Friendly staff. We had a good size room (deluxe). Quiet location, away from main roads and motorway but close enough to tour the surrounding area. Will definitely be going back to stay here.

We checked into our immaculate rooms, found the owner, asked for a number for a taxi as we were meeting family for food, she kindly said she'd take us as the taxi company would charge a lot to come and collect us, great! We then had a change of plan and ate at the hotel, relaxed, good food, although if...

A quaint old, but lovely place in a quiet location. The room was clean and comfortable and recently refurbished; the bed was really comfortable. The evening meal was okay, as was the cooked breakfast. All the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking. Would definitely stay again and would recommend the hotel.

We arrived and were greeted by Diane who was very helpful. She showed us where to lock our bikes up over night in a secure garage. The room was very comfortable and Diane put us in a room with a bath as she was aware we were doing the Coast to Coast which was very thoughtful. We ate dinner in...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Edenhall Country House and Restaurant. Our independently run hotel dates back to the mid 17th century, and offers excellent accommodation just 5 minutes from Penrith and the M6 (J40). The village of Edenhall is ideally located for exploring the Lake District and situated in the beautiful Eden Valley, nestling between the rugged Pennine hills and the spectacular Lakeland fells. With 20 en-suite rooms, some of which are pet friendly, we are larger than most B&Bs, but smaller and more intimate than many other Cumbrian hotels, making Edenhall Country House the ideal place for a short bed and breakfast break or a longer holiday. Set in over an acre of beautifully maintained gardens, Edenhall Country House is one of a number of Cumbrian hotels that makes a fabulous setting for civil weddings and wedding celebrations. The hotel is also available for functions including family parties and gatherings as well as conferences during the week. Our restaurant serves home cooked food using the best local produce. For more casual dining, bar meals are available along with a menu of light snacks throughout the day. The large open fire becomes a focal point on cooler evenings, whereas in warmer weather, you are free to enjoy the beer garden or relax in our large conservatory. Free internet access via wifi is available throughout the hotel. ... more   less
