Stayed one night here en-route in driving from Exmoor to the Cairngorms. This is a most welcoming place on a quiet road, but within a mile or two of the M6 and easy reach to the town centre if required. My room was comfortable and well furnished with a nice TV and good wi fi. There was plentiful tea and coffee and two packs of nice biscuits and I was provided with a jug of fresh milk. The en-suite was a good size with a shower and the hosts provide nice local toiletries. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful with a varied choice to suit all tastes. I had some granola and yoghurt with fruit followed by nicely cooked scrambled egg and smoked salmon on brown toast. It was delicious as was the orange juice and freshly brewed coffee. I would heartily recommend this B and B which is a spacious house with nice gardens as well as nice hosts. It s also reasonably priced. COViD precautions were all meticulously addressed.…
This was a really lovely place to stay for two nights in Penrith, and was a real surprise. Sarah and Deano were very welcoming and have really thought of everything; the rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the breakfasts delicious. The views from the garden facing bedrooms and dining room are wonderful. We were impressed that the hosts are still following suggestions to keep their guests safe from virus transmission, without it being too intrusive. We would definitely recommend Bank House and will hopefully be back one day
What an amazing little find. Beautiful old house with lovely views from the breakfast room. Super comfortable king size four poster bed in Room 0. Spotlessly clean with real attention to detail. Lovely long bath too! Wonderful breakfast with freshly baked bread ... what more could you want?! We will definitely be back!
Lovely b & b - the hosts were very friendly and helpful, rooms lovely and breakfast delicious. Would not hesitate to recommend. Good position with short walk to Penrith and short drive to Ullswater. *****
Due to the Appleby Horse fair (no hotels in Appleby), we had to start our final leg of the Pennine Way from Penrith. The Bank House Bed and Breakfast provided a great start with an excellent breakfast. The host even managed to sort out our Taxi to get to our walking starting point when it appeared the horse fair was going to make like very difficult.
It was a wonderful place to stay, made particularly special by the lovely hosts. We felt more like guests in their home than people paying to stay in a B&b. The place was spotless, the beds were really comfortable and the breakfasts were amazing. There was also cake left in the fridge! All the food was locally sourced. We made use of the gazebo on the garden one evening which was perfect.
Our hosts were so friendly, and helpful with garaging our bikes. The room was comfortable, it caught the evening sun, beautiful. Lovely garden to relax in too. Best breakfast for ages, e.g. granola and yogurt and compote, home made bread, special marmalade!
A wonderful stay made special by super hosts. Always there to ensure all your needs were met and provided some lovely home made cake!! Always made us feel relaxed throughout our stay despite Covid restrictions in place . We stayed in room 1 which has amazing views across towards Penrith and the fells.
