Despite the autumn leaves still rustling around the doormat, the outside of the house which could do with a lick of paint and the freezing bedroom, we loved this place. There is a real atmosphere. The garden with hundreds of birds chirping away overlooks the town. Very pleasant hosts. Breakfast of smoked haddock was cooked to perfection. The amazing pictures...

Bank House is a lovely B&B in a quiet location but within walking distance of the centre of Penrith. Our hosts were first class, very warm and welcoming. Breakfast and afternoon cake and coffee more than we could eat and provided much needed fuel as we were cycling the coast to coast. We were carrying all our kit on our...

Lovely rooms and breakfast, using local produce. Easy parking on a quiet street and only a short walk into Penrith. Great location for some beautiful countryside. Have stayed twice now and will definitely stay again.

We stayed here on our way from lands end to john O'Groats by bicycle. Received a warm and friendly welcome from Sarah and Dean who go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The breakfast was incredible with porridge, full English (Cumberland style) and fresh fruit, all provided by local suppliers from Penrith. Great place. Lovely hosts.

Thank you for your very kind comments. Today the view is more wonderful with the tulips out, the sun shining and we have bullfinches feeding off the bird feeder along with the goldfinches.

Stayed at the Bank House after a long drive south and were happy with our comfortable room. It is well situated to walk into town even on a rather wild night! Breakfast was superb, lovely dining room with wonderful views, and extremely tasty smoked haddock, perfectly cooked. Friendly hosts. We'd stay here again!

An extremely welcome break on a long trip to and from Scotland! Sarah is a fabulous hostess, providing tea and cake for weary travellers upon arrival. Incredibly comfy beds and proper, large towels, and in the morning, a SPECTACULAR breakfast! Quite possibly the greatest B&B Breakfast we have ever had, with an impressive variety of Vegetarian options, including delicious porridge,...

Possibly arriving late from the south, possibly in the snow, my first question was what is your latest check in? The response was acceptable and so we booked on the day of travel direct with the house. Last available room was clean, warm and well presented. Breakfast plentiful and a good selection. In addition we were given a selection bag...

Thank you for your kind comments. I do realise it is difficult with weather forecast other commitments etc etc but we will always try our best to accommodate guests late arrival or any other special requests.

Lovely house and garden, great breakfast nice people. A definite cut above. One feature that requires special mention is the view you get over the town from the breakfast room, stunning. The house is very comfortable and is furnished with solid antique furniture.
