We had a wonderful few days at Cote How, culminating in our wedding. Caroline and staff did everything they could to make our stay and the wedding go as smoothly as possible. They were thoughtful and attentive throughout, so that the whole experience was a joy. Special mention to Ellie who did a fantastic job on the bride's hair. We...

Me and my partner stayed at this lovely b&b for 2 nights not only was the service brilliant but so was the location of the cottage. It was lovely on the outside and the inside. It had a very vintage feel to the cottage and the breakfast was brilliant. I could not fault this cottage or the service many thanks...

I have just spent an amazing 2 days/nights here at the beautiful B&B I was staying here as my friends wedding was being held here. From the minute we arrived until we left it was 5* treatment all the way. The rooms are beautiful, very comfortable and extremely clean. The hostess Caroline is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble...

In April we enjoyed our second visit to Cote How. It was fabulous to be back there again. Caroline is a superb host, and was helpful from first contact. We had our favourite suite, with a divine new bathroom. The breakfasts were as good as ever, and just as well for all that walking! We love the location, the lake...

We stayed in 2 double rooms in this lovely guest house and tea rooms. Peaceful, picturesque location only yards from the main road. Comfy beds, home cooked breakfast, cosy sitting room and a roaring fire make it an ideal place to set out from, as well as return to, after a day spent exploring the lakes.

Lovely location for walkers just a couple of hundred yards from Rydal water with plenty of walking of different types directly from the guest house. The owner, Caroline is really helpful and can suggest things to do even in the rain, and the breakfasts were organic and tasty, as was the cake for tea. You can easily walk to Ambleside...

I cannot imagine a better B & B than this. It is beautifully situated by Rydal Water, with many walks from the front door. The food is delicious and organic: Caroline, the friendly and helpful owner, is involved with environmental issues, including red squirrels and using public transport where possible (there are good bus connections if your legs refuse to...

This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Brilliant location for walking, lovely and quiet, extremely spacious and beautifully appointed rooms (suites rather than rooms), Caroline the owner was helpfulness personified, log fires in the breakfast room in the mornings, excellent breakfast and a very characterful old house. It clearly did not suite the people who reviewed it...

Not only a beautiful house, immaculately clean and tidy, in a gorgeous part of the world - but I could not have been made to feel more at home by the owner Caroline. Fabulous, gorgeous breakfast (the sausages!!), very helpful guidance for walking and on where to eat and drink. Very well placed for walking - Ambleside at brisk walking...
