I loved staying here its quiet and the staff were amazing and they could not do enough for you. There was a shower and toilet joined to my room for sole access as we had paid extra for this lovely surroundings and garden. Immaculate except the dressing gowns they provided had stains on them i think they should review offering... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Oakthwaite. We are glad that you generally enjoyed your stay with us and can only apologise if there were marks on the dressing gowns. These are laundered following each departure, as they are in hotels and guest houses all over the world. We provide these as a courtesy... More

Arrived about an hour early on Friday but Deborah the owner was very accommodating and showed us to our room. Explained the protocol and layout and the fact you could have either continental breakfast at the Oakthwaite or full English at Monties 10 minutes walk. Either way the food was very good. The owner was very good and chatted over... More

Before setting off me and the owner discussed on the phone what time i would arrive etc. We arrived around 3pm with the house empty. I had to contact deborah by mobile and discuss what time she would be back. We decided to head off into windermere for an hour or so then back to the bnb. The room was... More

We come to Windermere every June half term with the kids for a mountain biking holiday but left it late to book our normal b & b this year so tried Oakthwaite. Wow great location, bikes safe with plenty of parking and away from the road. The house was very clean and tidy and we had it to ourselves. We... More

I have no idea why this B&B has got these high ratings. I was fooled with the high ratings in here and booking.com which indicate this as a good stay and friendly staff. I stayed here with my partner and my parents and our experience was totally different to the reviews here. We arranged for arrival at 4:00 pm on... More

We have just returned home from a lovely weekend staying at Oakthwaite. Upon arrival we were greeted and taken to our room which was lovely and spacious. We were made to feel welcome and all our questions were answered. Due to us having our little girl with us we put her to bed and watched TV in the lounge both... More

I booked this B&B for my boyfriend's birthday. Wen we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of bubbly and some roses. This was such a lovely gift to revive and we both appreciated it. We had the room with the separate bathroom and toilet. Both bedroom and bathroom were gorgeous and we were given two huge fluffy... Following a booking error by third party, the owner went out of her way to find us a room at their sister B&B 'Monties'. The service was excellent as well as the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. Ideal location if you're here for the views. Just a 5 minute walk to the lakes and in the heart of the... More
